Editorial Reviews

When you talk about heavy metal, the name of Black Sabbath comes to your mind. Ozzy Ozbourne (vocals), Tony Iommi (guitar), Bill Ward (drums) and Geezer Butler (bass guitar), had left Birminghan by the end of 1960, to win the world with their heavy guitars and evil lyrics. The group changed its members many times, but it remains in the style. Here, in this DVD, you'll find historical scenes compiled for you, filmed in the height of the band, during the 70 and 80's decades. And it includes scenes of the band telling how some of their greatest hits were created. "Paranoid", "Iron Man" and "Die Young" are some of the songs that will make start hiting you head against the wall. Extra features: music selections, history and clips, bigraphy, discography and photo gallery. CONTENT: 01. Black Sabbath 02. Paranoid 03. Iron man 04. Blue suede shoes 05. Hard road 06. Die young 07. Neon knights 08. Trashed 09. Zero the hero 10. No stranger in love 11. The shining 12. Headless cross 13. Feels good to me 14. TV crimes 15. Computer gold

1.0 out of 5 stars Redundant, October 19, 2005
This review is from: Black Sabbath (DVD)
Don't be fooled by the new cover and liner notes. This DVD is nothing more than a repackaging of the "Black Sabbath Story Vol. 2" collection (transferred very obviously from a grainy, worn-out VHS copy) with the 4 songs from the "Musikladen" set tacked on. The only possible advantage to this is that unlike the official "Vol. 2" DVD, the set is presented in its original aspect ratio rather than the forced "letterboxed" ratio, but that's hardly worth the list price given the dreadful video quality. If you don't have either the "Vol. 2" or "Musikladen" discs, and don't mind the fuzz and grain (or a shrill, echo-laden 5.1 remix), then by all means, jump on this one. Otherwise, don't waste your money.
