5.0 out of 5 stars nice collection from 3 SRC CDs, November 24, 2006

Well done selection from the SRC#1 (album + rare 45), SRC #2 (Milestones), although inexplicably Gary Quackenbush's amazing guitar sustains are mixed almost inaudibly too low on "Eye of the Storm"

on this CD (makes buying Milestone a STRONG suggestion), and SRC #3 (w/out Gary, it's an interesting choice of experimenting w/rock lyrics/songs).

5.0 out of 5 stars Still Rocks, December 4, 2000
This review is from: Black Sheep (Audio CD)
I heard and watched SRC in the 60's and have long since lost my LP's, but I never forgot the hard rock sounds and haunting lyrics of Scott Richardson. After searching for decades- Here they are again. The guitar work, the harmony, and the combination of sounds still rocks after all these years. If only the album had included Bolero it would be perfect. Even without, this is a rare treat for those who grew up in the 60's or those who just want to hear what GREAT music we had!

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice retrospective of a great band, November 12, 2006
This review is from: Black Sheep (Audio CD)
Saw SRC as an opening band at the original Electric Factory in Philadelphia when the song Black Sheep came out, and we were stunned. I remember that their first song was the Stones' We Love You. This collection is what they thought was the best of the 3 albums. The only problems are that it's in MONO (what's with that??) and they forgot BOLERO. Aside from that, I love it!

5.0 out of 5 stars SRC Black Sheep a great compilation from a great band, November 23, 2008

SRC Black Sheep is an awesome compilation of 19 songs from a great, obscure band from the late 60's/early 70's. My brother and I are big fans of this band and owned their first 3 vinyl albums. The prohibitive prices on their CD's prevented us from obtaining them. But when I saw Black Sheep at normal CD price, I jumped on it. This set is really like a greatest hits collection, and not 1 weak song in my opinion. My brother and I just listened to this CD yesterday, and it was most enjoyable as well as a nostalgic trip to our past college days.

Searing, fuzzed out garage rock from Detroit!! Half the tracks are kind of on the goofy, forgettable side, but it's worth the price of admission for mind-numbing rockers like the title track and "Daystar". Rock on!!
