Black Stallion Revolts,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Black Stallion Revolts (Paperback)
When famous jockey, Alec Ramsey, and his famous horse, Black, go down in a plane in Wyoming, all that can be done is to send out search parties. They are never found, because Alec had opened the plane door so it would not become stuck when they crashed, and is torn from the plane by the wind. After the plane crashes, the Black runs off into the wilderness. Alec wakes up to find that he can not remember a thing, even his own name. A long journey brings him to a small out of the way town in Arizona. He gets a job on a ranch there. Eventually, he and the Black meet again, but Alec still can't remember. Only when he is forced to race the Black does he remember who he is. The story is one that you can easily get into, and the book is impossible to put down.

Whatever Farley does, he's good at it,
By Anna (Sumbawa, Indonesia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Black Stallion Revolts (Paperback)
Whoa- that book kept me on the edge of my seat. Only one thing remained in your mind- would Alec remember who he was before it was too late? My English teacher said that its good for writers to keep their readers reading, and, believe me, Walter Farley sure mastered that in this tale of suspense. If you ever happen to stumble upon this book in some old library or something, pick it up. It's one of my utmost favorites in the classical Black Stallion series, and I've read them all.

This book is great for everyone who loves horses(especially the Black)! After a fight at Hopeful Farm, the Black and Alec head to a free-range ranch for a few months. On the way, a accident in the wilderness sends Alec across many states running from the police(he has amnesia and thinks he murdered someone) and trying to regain his memory.

He sends Alec and the Black to a place where they can run free. But on the way, the plane must make an emergancy landing for the Black get colic by drinking cold water. He doesn't remember that he owns that black stallion, he climbs onto his back and rides the black stallion, believing that he is a wild, rogue stallion. The ranch owner brags that his horse(the Black) can beat the another ranch owner's horse in a match race. Can the Black win the race with Alec on his back?

#8 in the series,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: The Black Stallion Revolts (Paperback)
THE BLACK STALLION REVOLTS is, so far, the most exciting Black Stallion book I've ever read. When the Black colics, he causes the airplane pilots of the plane he is riding on to lose control. Alec and the Black somehow manage to fall out of the plane, but seperately from each other. Alec suffers amnesia and tries to remember his past, but the Black is wild and free. Now they are alone, unknown, isolated.

Exciting and fascinating,
By Dylan (Cow-Town) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Black Stallion Revolts (Paperback)
This is one of my all-time favourite books ever. The Black Stallion books in general are extremely suspenseful and keep you on the edge of your seat, but this one is the most exciting of them all. The intriguing plot and suspenseful moments make it the perfect package. Alec's amnesia makes it all the more interesting, as if the protagonist himself has no clue what he's doing, the reader will be even more perplexed. A wonderful, amazing story wih the most action-packed plot ever.

One of My Favorite Black Stallion Books!,

This review is from: The Black Stallion Revolts (Paperback)
In this book Alec gets amnesia in a plane crash, the Black runs wild in the mountains, no one knows where Alec is, he is suspected of murder, and works on a ranch in the American West. This is an enjoyable read that had me almost pounding on the wall as I rooted for Alec to regain his memory or for someone to recognize him. It's amazing how the Black and him are able to form a relationship all over again from the beginning. Alec can't remember his horse but knows he has a special relationship with the mysterious wild western stallion. In my opinion, this is one of Walter Farley's best works! This book is his shot at a great Golden Age Western, and he achieves his goal very well. Five stars and a half. *****+

Western Adventure,

This review is from: The Black Stallion Revolts (Paperback)
I remember how excited I was the first time I read this book: I loved the West and Westerns, and I loved the Black Stallion series. I was thrilled that Farley had written a story that took place in the West. And I was't disappointed. This was and is a great read. This book definitely revved up the series, showing the reader that Alec and the Black could have adventures anywhere. Very satisfying.

One of the Best!,

This review is from: The Black Stallion Revolts (Paperback)
This is unquestionably one of the best of the BLACK STALLION books! I remember reading it when I was about 12, and it blew me away. Poor Alec (who nearly always gets terribly injured or tortured (see RETURN OF THE BLACK STALLION to see him nearly get his arm torn off!) in every book, goes through major agony in this one - As a child, I felt like I was going through the terrifying plane crash and the struggle to recover along with Alec. The book's action and suspense are wonderful, and the new Western setting is a terrific change of pace from upstate New York. The new characters are finely drawn, and of course the Black's own adventure in the wilderness is thrilling as well. Having all the plot strands come together in the Big Race at the end was beautifully dramatic. Anyone who loves Alec and the Black shouldn't miss this one!
