Most memorable yet,
This review is from: The Black Stallion's Courage (Paperback)
I am a huge fan of all the books about the Black, Mr. Farley is the king of horse writing. This book, out of all the others, has been my favorite, however...and why? I'm still not sure. The Black's neverending fire and devotion and heart is shown so vividly in that final race that it left me with a lump in my throat. And I normally do NOT cry or get emotionally jolted at ALL in books OR movies. A 1 star, Ms. Rebecca? Dig a little deeper, my friend. You obviously don't have a taste for writing. Enjoy the book, isn't that what reading is about? And this book is one of the best of all the Black Stallion series. The most memorable showing of the Black's speed, endurance, and heart and love and desire against all odds is in here. If you are a Black Stallion fan, all the reasons you are are in this book. It will touch your heart.

This review is from: The Black Stallion's Courage (Paperback)
This is a great book about the courage, stamina, heart, speed, and love for running the Black has; Brilliantly written with a good plot. To the person who gave this book a 1 you are probably biased.

Favourite in the Series,

This review is from: The Black Stallion's Courage (Paperback)
I read all the Black Stallion books as a child, but this one has long remained my favorite. It does not have the "high adventure" that frequents many of Mr. Farley's other books - that said, I think the last chapter of this book is possibly the most exciting of the series - but it offers one of the most articulated and lasting pictures of life at the racetrack I have ever come across for either adults or children (the depiction of the "old man" handicapper is especially brilliant).I think this book is the highlight of the series - joyful and full of all the best excitement the racetrack has to offer. I'm so glad to see it's coming back into print.

My favorite in the entire series,

The Black is racing again, and unlike other horses, he's successful! But by no means his first time out. No, the Black and Alec have there trials and tribulations with other jockeys, trainers, and handicappers. I love the Black, and anyone else who does will love this book. It's great to have the Black back, in winning form. The cover attracted me when I picked it up at age 8 (those autumn leaves and beautiful Black), and at 14 the content attracts me. A definite read for everyone who "owns" the Black in their heart.

This review is from: The Black Stallion's Courage (Paperback)
If you were missing the Black, well, he's back. It is fairly typical of the other books that Farley wrote, I still quite enjoy them, as you will if you are a Farley fan and have fallen in love with Alec and his horse. There is always something new to learn and a new adventuer to go on.

It must be tough to maintain the integrity of a series as the volumes add up, but Walter Farley continues to do so. The Black Stallion's Courage is true to the characters and has an intriguing plot. Set in the aftermath of a horrible farm accident, the Black Stallion and Alec are again put to the test. An inspirational story for all ages.

The Blacks Courage,

Once again Walter Farley tells any excellent story. When a fire burns down one of Hopefully farms barns it's going to take a lot of money to rebuild it. Though the Black's daughter Black Minx "Baby" is running in the 2nd and 3rd legs of the triple crown. Alec still wants to bring the Black out of retirement; we see several races in this book one which gives the perspective of people watching the race, which was nice. In the end the Black must race against Eclipse "Pops" the top 3 year old, and a 5 year old horse named Casey, who is compared to Man O' War

The Black Stallion's Courage - Fine quality book,

This is a good book with a satisfying plot, definately one of my favorites in the Black Stallion series. Alot of action and alot of the Black :]. There are alot of racing scenes, and the one between the Black, Casey and Eclipse almost reminded me of how the Black raced Cyclone and Sun Raider in the original. This one in my opinion, is the only book in the series that is like the original in some ways. Overall, this book is recommended!
