5.0 out of 5 stars Jungleboots
Now first of they aren't made to be comfy. I've had mine for almost a year got these for my birth day and I know for a fact the sole isn't falling apart. I live on a farm and they are good but heavy. I took the heel of to drop the weight and put a new one on. These most definitely last longer then all of you say I used the in Virginia last year in the winter storms...

2.0 out of 5 stars Great for a while, but always ends up with holes
I've had two pairs of these in my life time. For a while, they're amazing. However, the texture on the bottom wears off quickly and the boots are ridiculously slick, especially in the winter. Additionally, both pairs I've had ended up cracking on the bottom two inches from the toes. The crack ran along the entire width of the boot and let in the weather and water. These...

These boots are great for a while, but if you're tough on boots, I can't recommend them. Both pairs I've had I destroyed in less than a year. Also, unless you shine them constantly, they look like crap pretty quick.

5.0 out of 5 stars Jungleboots, June 8, 2011

I took the heel of to drop the weight and put a new one on. These most definitely last longer then all of you say I used the in Virginia last year in the winter storms (2010-2011) they don't stay dry for long but if you have two pairs of socks and waterproofed them you set if you can't take care of these boots and they last under a year then you shouldn't be wearing boots the grip is mad for the jungle like in Forrest gump not everyday pavement and concrete. Don't love them like my intermediate weather bates boots but they are fair enough for summer and what not. These have been chewed by my irish setter pup and the only thing that I had to fix was the last but. What could be better is the lacing. If they can stand a puppy for 5minutes they tough don't forget what you wear.

3.0 out of 5 stars OK for a while..., September 4, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
These boots were amazing for about 4 months. I wore them in pretty harsh conditions, since I do a lot of hiking and wilderness survival. They performed well, but the bottoms of my feet really hurt after a few consecutive days in them, and after 4 months, the soles started to fall off. It turns out that the manufacturer glued the soles on, instead of sewing them like you're supposed to. These boots are a good buy for a few months, but if you plan on using them for longer, then get tactical boots. Those are the ones with a lot of padding and have a side zipper.

3.0 out of 5 stars Smell of rubber wont go away!, January 25, 2008

I don't wear these much, but they have polluted my closet with the smell of rubber. The laces have a habit of loosening throughout the day even when a double knot is used to tie them off.

I read some of the reviews after ordering the boots and became somewhat concerned, but by leaving the boots out on the porch for a couple of days after taking them out of the box, I was able to take care of the smell problem. I also bought a good set of inserts and a better pair of laces and these boots are great. I've had them for about a month now and wear them almost daily.

2.0 out of 5 stars Cheap imitation, December 15, 2010
I was looking for boots like the ones issued by the Marines. This boot has a heel plate that just about tears apart your foot as you slip it on. No thank you. This is made for someone into pain! The shoelace started falling apart after I laced them up the first time. Sizes run BIG.

3.0 out of 5 stars good for the price, November 7, 2007
By
It worth the price, it fits well, and no need to break in. It has a big problem in the begining. For the first few weeks, the leather smells bad, like a dead animal or chemical to process the leather. It eventually goes away, but for a few weeks I had a tough time in public. That made me to shop around and get a better boot on sale with the same price from Sears, and I am very happy with it.
