Good stuff, if a bit odd, July 18, 2007
This review is from: Tearrow Black Tea Chewing Gum, 0.53-Ounce Packs (Pack of 20) (Grocery)
So, Wrigley's gum almost all uses Aspartame now, even the mint ones. Time to look for alternatives. In the process, I came across this Tearrow gum, and it was just funny enough that I had to try it. My next order will be more, and their oolong and green tea flavors. It does indeed have a taste like tea, with a gunpowder or Earl Grey kind of edge to it (if you're used to typical iced tea, it will taste weird, but if you're accustomed to good hot teas, it will taste familiar).
Sorbitol is kind of odd, but it doesn't taste nasty like Aspartame or Saccharin. The gum loses its initial flavor somewhat quickly, but maintains a bit of it, and its chewiness, for nearly an hour.
If you want to try a gum without any really strange ingredients, or are looking for something oddball, give this a shot.
I'd be almost tempted to give it five stars if it came with a red-garbed dwarf speaking forward in reverse. Alas, though, only one claims that title.
