This review is from: Black Tide (Paperback)
Carver's third novel to include reporter India Kane, although her appearance in the second was almost a cameo role, is a winner. The foes are a tad meaner and scarier than in Carver's earlier efforts. As a matter of fact, they are so brutal, it brings up my biggest reservation about the novel. Kane is several times beaten brutally, but her injuries are not significant enough for the beating she received. That strains the credibility of the rest of the book. If you have look over her amazing recuperative powers, however, this is an outstanding book. I look forward to reading more from this author.
