Book Description

He haunts the jungle – and her dreams

When Dr. Sally Carter travels to India to regroup from a broken heart the last thing she wants is to fall in love. But Raja Asoka (Ash) Bhosle is entirely too attractive to ignore,
even though she knows it can only end in tears. Hers.

Ash guards his forest and the precious creatures within it, protecting the rare tigers from mindless slaughter, and a secret that lives in legend. From the moment he sets eyes on the Australian doctor, he wants her, even over the objections of his mother and the unsuitability of her cultural heritage.

While Ash fights tiger poachers, Sally struggles against cultural prejudice. Can the Legend of the Black Tiger be the bond that brings them closer together, or will it be an impossible belief that rips them apart. The closer Sally comes to understanding what the legend means, the more frequent the nightmares become. Is she losing her sanity, or is there more to Sally than she herself knows? The answers lie buried in her past.

When the Black Tiger breaks free to stalk the night, only one thing will control the beast.

About the Author

Greta van der Rol wishes she was born a thousand years or so in the future, where space ships zip around the Galaxy and people have adventures on exotic worlds. Well, if you can’t be there, why not write about it? And slap in a healthy dollop of romance, too? After many years in the computer industry, Greta now writes full time. Her first published book, 'To Die a Dry Death', is historical fiction based on the true story of the wreck of the Dutch merchant ship Batavia off the desolate coast of Western Australia in 1629. There may some more historical fiction in the future but for now, Greta is working on more fast and furious space romps, because they're fun. She lives in sub-tropical Queensland, Australia, near the beach. When she isn’t writing she enjoys cooking and photography. Visit her website at http://gretavanderrol.com

5.0 out of 5 stars He haunts the jungle... and her dreams March 2, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
Black Tiger is one of those special paranormal romances that transcends the ordinary. Set in India, around the vividly well-characterized protagonists, Ash and Sally, the reader is swiftly drawn into the heat, majesty, and charisma of this ancient, evocative land and its beliefs, sometimes magical, other times violent and cruel.

Ash is a mesmerizing romantic hero. He's standoffish, but not necessarily because he wants to be: he has certain special obligations he dares not share with anyone.

He's drawn immediately to Sally Carter, a doctor he's recruited to care for the villagers he's in charge of. He resists the attraction: for as long as he's lived, he's known he can only get together with a certain kind of woman.

The Legend of the Black Tiger pulls them both irrevocably into its mystery, its grace, its terror, and Sally discovers more about herself than she ever could have imagined.

The proceeds from this book go toward tiger preservation.

5.0 out of 5 stars an entertaining take on a heartbreaking issue October 7, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I'm a fan of Greta Van Der Rol's writing. From sci-fi to history to paranormal, she delivers the goods--action, a new world to immerse in, and a "dollop of romance" to spice things up. In this paranormal romance, she sheds light on the issue of tiger poaching without ever getting preachy, and through the changeable eyes of a were-tiger, a new concept for me. The romance is enjoyable, the plot pulls you forward, and you are thoroughly entertained while feeling virtuous for having supported tiger conservation by purchasing this book.
What's not to like? Grab one today and step into India and the world of the tiger.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best shifter story I've read in a long time February 4, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
My favorite part about Black Tiger was the main character Asok, or Ash, for short. I could actually hear his accented voice in my head as I was reading which for me is a plus since it was very sexy and Ash is extremely HOT. Sally, the other main character, is also very loveable. She's sensitive, but not overly so for my tastes. At the beginning of the book, I was wondering how these two would get together since Ash can only mate with a woman who carries the were-tiger gene. Greta van der Rol writes the plot beautifully and nothing about how the story ends is how I thought it would be. And one of the best parts of the book is Ash's tiger, which, when he is in his human form, manifests itself as a voice in Ash's head. I love the inner dialogue between the two. Some parts are very humorous and other parts are touching. I don't want to give away anything else so I'll leave it here, but this is a MUST READ.
