5.0 out of 5 stars Has it all, and it's sturdy
This corkscrew has opened everything bottle that I tried it on. It is very sturdy. The worm has a full 5 spirals, not 4 like some. That gives it a better grip on brittle or dry corks. It also had no problem with one of my plastic corks.

The last spiral has the point safely down and away. It's made of a zinc alloy, not plated. The two-step puller folds beyond...

1.0 out of 5 stars Knockoff
This item has been designed to look and read like the "real" Boomerang Corkscrew, but it is not. Works okay, but if you are looking for the real thing, as I was, this isn't it. Returned the one I bought.

The two-step puller folds beyond 90 degrees, making it easy to open regular bottle caps as well. The recess between the end of the worm and the formed handle provides for a sturdy non-slip grip. It has 4 individual blades to cut the foil; they are nice and sharp and collapse when not in use. The worm and the puller both have metal-to-metal connections. And...very nice - you don't have to look around for a separate foil cutter!

I chose the black to conform with the rest of my utensils, but they also have a nice deep maroon. And the price is better than any corkscrew I have seen of this quality. I really like this corkscrew.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love this corkscrew!, May 12, 2011

I love this corkscrew! It works smoothly even on the "tightest" corks. The built in 4-blade foilcutter works perfectly. I did buy a separate foil cutter, but this is really the ultimate corkscrew and is a much better buy than the "boomerang".

3.0 out of 5 stars When it finally snapped, it slashed my hand., January 30, 2011
This review is from: Black Waiter's Corkscrew w/ built-in 4 blade foilcutter & 5 Turn Worm
After several years of use, the plastic handle broke while I was levering out a cork and the jagged broken edge slashed my hand rather badly. I liked the foil cutter, which is much safer and quicker than a knife.

2.0 out of 5 stars Cheap knock off -- Not the real Boomerang Waiter's Corkscrew, December 19, 2010
This review is from: Black Waiter's Corkscrew w/ built-in 4 blade foilcutter & 5 Turn Worm
Thought I was buying the original Boomerang Waiter's Corkscrew--which is a 5-star product. This turns out to be a cheap knock off and I was disappointed. It does work, but the quality is much lower and I do not expect it to hold up like the original. My learning is to be more careful about the final details when ordering. I didn't notice that it was a fake. Buyer beware.

1.0 out of 5 stars There are better corkscrews, May 31, 2010

This review is from: Black Waiter's Corkscrew w/ built-in 4 blade foilcutter & 5 Turn Worm
I purchased this corkscrew specifically for the foil cutter. Although the foil cutter did not disappoint the rest of the corkscrew did. The worm was not sharp and chewed up the cork as I screwed it in leaving bits of cork in its wake. There was only one position for the lever making it cumbersome to pull out the cork (I'm use to having two positions on the lever). This was also not comfortable in my hand.
