5.0 out of 5 stars Another sold entry in the Axiom-man saga
Black Water is an enjoyable digital short featuring A. P. Fuch's Axiom-man. In this short story Axiom-man tangles with a terror from the deep in Florida. I found the story highly effective and engrossing. Pay no heed to the one negative review left here.

2.0 out of 5 stars Strictly for fans of the author
I am unfamiliar with Mr. Fuchs, but apparently he has been writing super hero stories for some time featuring the character Axiom-man, a dude in tights who has super strength, I guess super vision and 'blue power,' a nice deus ex machina catch all. Black Water is a short story pitting Axiom-man against Dagon. There is not much of a plot. Axiom-man comes on a beach...

5.0 out of 5 stars Axiom-man VS the Mythos...YES PLEASE!, June 30, 2009
Absolutely love this story. Axiom-man branches out and becomes and international hero when he leaves Canada to travel to Florida to investigate very strange occurences. Occurences that would frighten the master himself HP Lovecraft into a corner.

Oceanic Horrors abound and Axiom-man is unnable to thwart them alone, but help comes from the strangest places. A tightly written piece worthy of its place in the Cthulhu Mythos.

Here's one A.P. Fuchs concoction you don't want to miss. Finally, a story where a genuine superhero takes on a tentacled, Lovecraftian horror. But this is no ordinary superhero. This is Axiom-man, and his powers come from an extraordinary source, which in turn comes from... well, you'll have to read the earlier books to find that out. I'll not say any more about this wonderful little tale. So sit back, relax, and let Axiom-man shine his unrelenting light on the dark corners of this world, and those unseen.

2.0 out of 5 stars Strictly for fans of the author, March 12, 2010
I am unfamiliar with Mr. Fuchs, but apparently he has been writing super hero stories for some time featuring the character Axiom-man, a dude in tights who has super strength, I guess super vision and 'blue power,' a nice deus ex machina catch all. Black Water is a short story pitting Axiom-man against Dagon. There is not much of a plot. Axiom-man comes on a beach scene where Dagon or his spawn have been causing havoc, meets a friendly Deep One and then fights Dagon. The bulk of the story is devoted to the fight scene. There was no character development and scant dialogue. The prose is not so hot. Here is an example of the author's descriptive powers: "..the smell of rotting fish greeted him like the thick air wafting from an open bathroom door after a fat man had used the john." Mostly I found it unengaging. The author uses the name Dagon, of course in the public domain, to write a superhero fight scene. This is Cthulhu mythos only in the same sense The Returner: The Book of Planes is Cthulhu mythos.

It's a cheap download but I doubt I'll reread it or seek out any further works about Axiom-man.

Drivel, a complete waste of electrons. No character development, the author relies completely that you've read previous Axiom Man works. After reading this, his premise is dead wrong as I'd just as soon read a 3rd grader's "What I did on summer vacation" paper.
