5.0 out of 5 stars Very sexy and engrossing all the way to the "killer" ending.
I'm not much at reviewing movies, but this one really took me by surprise. I likeGina Gershon, so I tried it and I wasn't disappointed. She and her co-star really have chemistry. There's a lot of tension between the characters and you find yourself constantly changing your mind about who you think the killer is (and I'm pretty good at this stuff). But it's not just a...

3.0 out of 5 stars See this for Rory Cochrane
While Gina Gershon is featured on the cover of the DVD box, Rory Cochrane is actually the protagonist. He plays a rookie cop named Chris O'Brien, a devout Catholic who loses his innocence once he joins the police force and is partnered with Gershon's mentally unbalanced veteran cop, Officer Hugs. A rogue cop is driving around bumping off junkies and other low-lifes by...

There's a lot of tension between the characters and you find yourself constantly changing your mind about who you think the killer is (and I'm pretty good at this stuff). But it's not just a good suspense thriller, it's a good love story, too. I highly recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gina Gershon is Hotter Than EVER!!, November 28, 2005
This review is from: Black & White (DVD)
If you enjoy a movie with a basic plot, but with plenty of Gina Gershon then this IS it. Gershon does a good job acting wise, but my God, there isn't one frame in this film where she isn't breath takingly HOT! For all Gershon fans, check it out, and buy it for keeps.

5.0 out of 5 stars Black and White is your standard good cop bad cop tale, May 20, 2001
This review is from: Black & White [VHS] (VHS Tape)
The old riddle about a newspaper goes, "What's black and white, and read all over?" Well, the best way to sum up this movie is to say: it's called Black and White and I read right through it. A cop is on a killing spree through the dark streets of Los Angeles, shooting junkies and other no-good-nicks in the left eye. Rookie cop and Chris O'Brien is partnered with the beautiful, veteran female cop, Hugs to solve the case. The evidence starts to pile up against Hugs, and O'Brien must choose to trust his partner or his employer interesting movie good thriller

3.0 out of 5 stars See this for Rory Cochrane, October 31, 2008
This review is from: Black & White (DVD)
While Gina Gershon is featured on the cover of the DVD box, Rory Cochrane is actually the protagonist. He plays a rookie cop named Chris O'Brien, a devout Catholic who loses his innocence once he joins the police force and is partnered with Gershon's mentally unbalanced veteran cop, Officer Hugs. A rogue cop is driving around bumping off junkies and other low-lifes by shooting them in the left eye. The two cops engage in a steamy affair, and O'Brien is torn between his lust for Hugs and his suspicion that she may be the killer.

Gershon and Cochrane definitely have chemistry and smoke up the screen. I liked how their love scenes were steamy without being really graphic. Gershon is good as the somewhat crazy older cop, and her performance is ambiguous enough that you are genuinely kept wondering whether or not she is really the killer. But I liked Cochrane even more as the hero who is trying to unravel the truth and coming apart and falling from grace. I have enjoyed him in films like A Scanner Darkly, The Company, and Right at Your Door and have always felt he is underrated as a actor. He should get more lead roles.

The other performances in the movie are merely adequate. I thought Alison Eastwood as a detective was robotic.

Otherwise, this film was a good erotic thriller and I would recommend it.

Not one of Gina Gershon's best roles. The plot has plenty of twists and turns. You won't know "who dunnit" until the very end of the film. Some interesting nude scenes. If you're a Gina Gershon fan...buy BOUND. Much better.

3.0 out of 5 stars GINA AS A HOT, HOT COP, April 2, 2006
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Black & White (DVD)
Good cop\ba d cop is a hollywood staple, the only thing that raises this film, even a little bit, is the performance by the always wonderful and sexy GINA GERSHON.GINA, in this one MAY be a BAD cop and a KILLER. If this film had a better script, direction, and secondary cast it might come close to a film noir classic. But once again THE GREAT GINA is saddled with second rate back-up.GINA I love you,but the film is only so,so.

5.0 out of 5 stars Black & White: Best Movie of the Year, Gershon is Brilliant, December 4, 1999
This review is from: Black & White [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Black & White is the best movie I have seen to date. Gina Gershon is brilliant as an LAPD officer with a new partner and also under suspicion for murders taking place within her police division.

The writing is clever. Gershon delivers with brilliance and humor, pure talent; a real gift to movie fans.

Black & White is captivating and will leave you guessing until the final scene.

Of all the movies I've seen recently, this one is by far the best. It keeps you guessing who the killer is and packs a punch with a surprise ending! Gina Gershon does a fantastic job in this film.

2.0 out of 5 stars letdown, December 11, 1999

This review is from: Black & White (DVD)
I have recently watched Thief and Internal Affairs for the third or fourth time and both of these movies are still more engrossing than B & W which I saw for the first time. There are several flaws in this film not least of all casting, directing and script! It starts off with high expectations and quickly fizzles.
