Black Women Deserve Better - Isn't That The Beautiful Truth!,
By The Good Girl "Renee" (Houston, TX, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Black Women Deserve Better (Paperback)
I bought "Black Women Deserve Better" about 6 weeks ago, and read it cover to cover in 2 evenings and then again on the weekend! The author, CW, has hit the nail on the head with this book. Her analysis of the issues facing black women is spot on, as are her solutions - I saw my life in what she wrote. I had noted the phenomena that she discusses before, but whereas I thought I must be crazy and thought I was the only one who saw all this or had a problem with it, she has the courage to call it by its name, and call it out. I have to admit that I feel vindicated by this book - I know now that I am not alone in observing the dysfunctions and the anti-black women agendas and behavior that are so prevalent in the African American community today. I have already started implementing the solutions suggested by this author in my life and I'm already seeing a difference (and loving it)! Now, it's true that people who are racists (black, white or other), people who have an anti-black woman or anti-interracial relationships agenda, or people who want black women to remain the thankless mules of the African American community, will hate this book. But if you don't fall into any of the aforementioned categories, this book is well worth the read. It is potentially life-changing. I hope every black woman on planet earth will read this book and will use it as a tool to acknowledge her realities and change her life. Thank you, CW!

Agree or disagree overall a solid read,
This review is from: Black Women Deserve Better (Paperback)
Setting aside the vitriol in some of the reviews posted. Check out the website of the author and let that experience and impression guide the buying decision. Clearly the one reviewer did not care for the book but it appears she also does not care for the author either - one may in fact be influencing the other. One has to wonder what was so distasteful about the book to cause such a strong negative response.
It is curious as to what the reviewer did not like - given the strong negative reaction - bordering on over-reaction without any supporting evidence as to the basis for the comments made. More of a reaction than a response. If the purpose of the book was/is to create a reaction or response in readers and start the thought process then it is a hit. Overall the book is well written. The author takes a position and builds a case to support and illustrate the point of view. The book then proceeds to back up the position and build a case with reasoned arguments and examples. Agree or disagree the reader is challenged to think and examine points made and the information presented. A solid read.

THANK GOD FOR THIS BOOK!!!!!!!!!!,

Was beginning to think I was going crazy with all of the reprobate behavior in the average Black community. I also recommend Evia and Saras interracial blogs to gain further perspective. I concur with wondering if some of the other reviewers have even READ.THE.BOOK. Some just may be on the journey to facing their own personal issues!

CW Spares No Truth...,

CW spares no truth when it comes to the dating issue with black women. Her book is very honest and pulls no punches. Cw makes a very good point on how the black community machine uses black women instead of helping them. She also does a great job of exposing black men's faults.

I'm not a fan of "dating books" but I'll make an exception...,
By Beachgirl61 (USA) - See all my reviews

This is the ONE BOOK every woman should read. Why? Because it really is empowering, and doesn't put all the blame on the woman only! It takes two to tango, and CW knows this...and she's laid it out here for us all. She is a very intelligent and erudite person with very useful information that encourages Black women and ALL WOMEN to go for what we want...she is absolutely right, we deserve better!

I Could Not Put This Book Down!,
By forensicmommy (alexandria, va) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Black Women Deserve Better (Paperback)
I was so thrilled to get this book. I must thank the author for her profound yet simple and logical insight to the past, present-day and on-going issues affecting black women in America. She tells it like it is and had me from the very first word. Interracial marriage for black women has always been an option, but as the writer so accurately states, we have to wake up and see what is so painfully obvious in our communities. The only real option is to broaden the ones we already have.
I am sure there will be naysayers, but the questions the writer asked forces women to do some serious introspection and make the decision to live for them, make better choices and get out of the rut that has kept so many down throughout the decades. This is truly a wakeup call for black women who have been caught up into the subtle and blatant negativity that attacks them at every angle. Dare to recognize game, indoctrination, and the perpetual black female hating playa; and love yourself, expand your options and take a chance at living happy and well. We have the power to guide and direct our hearts and paths towards this end. That is clearly the message I got from this book. I don't think this is a black male bashing book, the writer is just telling truth and facts. Anyone who says different is in denial. The writer does not once categorize all black men, but again, she does outline issue by issue plaguing many black women and the games played by some black men (and other women) to keep them in a dependent and hopeless mindset --- repeating the cycle over and over. The writer shows how this mindset has permeated and soaked our communities and how we fall victim to this way of thinking. She spells out the entire phenomenon and offers true hope if we would only see it. This is a must read and once you get it, you will understand why I COULD NOT PUT THIS BOOK DOWN! Thanks for a wonderfully written book CW. I am getting several as New Years presents for some of my sisters who have yet to realize their potential across racial lines. New Year, New Thinking! When is the next one coming?

This book really is going to turn the "BC" on it's head! I read all of it in one greedy gulp.
CW makes everything short, sweet, and to the point- pulling no punches. She explains all of the terminology and destroys every single myth, straw, man and scare tactic used to keep BW in their place. This is a must read for all American Black women.

This book explained plenty of valid points to me and I had a hard time disagreeing with anything CW mentioned. This is one of the very few books that I can read over and over again. It is very helpful to black women everywhere.
