This review is from: BlackBerry Curve 8330 Phone, Pink (Verizon Wireless) (Wireless Phone)
I have had this for about a month. It is about 2 1/4" X 4" and only about 1/2 inch thick. It is very lightweight and can easily fit in a guy's shirt pocket. I like the metallic pink, but if you are a guy into the macho thing you can also find it in silver. Pink is pretty and different. The display is easy to see. The selector ball in the center works nicely. It is simple to use, for the technology challenged :-). The GPS navigation system works (not 100% of the time), but it works. For me, that's great because I can get lost inside of a paper bag. It takes decent camera pictures and even video pictures. While I have not mastered all the capabilities of the phone yet, I am pleased with it. It was better than I expected and a welcome upgrade from my old phone. (Boy, they get old fast!) It also will find local events and map you to their location and it will map you to and from places in your address book. It knows where you are all the time so you just tell it where you want to go. It also has a calendar and an alarm clock (which is handy when I am on the move) and you can hook up to your email. It has voice dialing too, and you can set up a ring tone and a photo for frequent callers, or to distinguish those callers who you wish were in-frequent :-). Nice phone. (I think the GPS connection cost me $10 more per month on my service and of course, to use email, you need to have email to hook up to. So, just because the phone is able to do something, you need to ask about any extra charges specific to the plan you have with your carrier. But, you knew that already, right?) Yep--this here Smart Phone is mighty smart!

What took me so long?,

I finally gave in and went for a blackberry.
I've been limping by with the LG Voyager. I use my phone extensively for work: my boss loves to text and although the keypad on the voyager is great for texting, you cannot see the screens in sunlight. I happen to live in a small town and am not stuck indoors all day, so it's very difficult to commmunicate with this phone. Then one day..... an accident occured and I had to get a new phone. The sales lady at Verizon was kind enough to take her BB outside into sunshine; guess what.... YOU CAN READ THE SCREEN IN BRIGHT SUNLIGHT! AMAZING IDEA! All other functions have just been icing on the cake. Why oh why did I wait so long. I can answer my international work emails while hiking around Spring Lake with my son! (of course, I can turn the thing off, too!). Highly recommend. Very quick to learn and easy to handle.

I am an avid BlackBerry user and I love this phone. I recently upgraded from the Pearl to the Curve and I am pleased with my choice. The quality of the phone is superb and the pink phone is very stylish.

The best BlackBerry so far,

I originally got the Curve because of the great reviews I read on Verizon's website. It has turned out to be the best BlackBerry that I have used to date. I used to have the 8830 (World Edition), but it didn't have a camera and the phone kept crashing. I have also used the Storm (9530) but you have to charge the dang thing every night, sometimes twice a day if you talk on the phone for a while. The Curve keeps a battery charge for up to 2 days. The graphics are great. You can install many games on it as well as themes (can't do that with the Storm or the 8830). The camera takes great pictures and I once recorded my daughter's school play (30 minutes long) on it. The video isn't full screen, but that's okay. It does transfer well to a computer. I've used it as my alarm, calendar, camera, MP3 player, etc. It does great with the mobile web and you can install Facebook and Yahoo Messenger on it as well. The trackball also is a great feature; however, just like with any mouse ball, it does get dirty and sometimes stick. So you may have to clean it from time to time. The Curve was my second BB and I'm currently using the Storm. The Storm does have some features that are better than the Curve (mainly game graphics and camera/video); however, I am going to go back to the Curve because it is still so much better. Plus, the pink is a cute metallic color. One thing, though, you MUST purchase a microSD card if you want to keep your pics, music, videos, even ringtones. The device memory is sufficient for games, themes, and apps, but the microSD card is best for your media.

This only complain I have is that this phone crashes at least once a month. I was not getting any emails for a while. When I took the phone to my local Verizon, I was told that I have to reset the phone by taking out the battery. When I put back the battery in, it worked fine. But I have to do this once a month. Am I the only one who has this kind of problem?
