Product Description
The BlackBerry® Leather Pocket is a form-fitted case designed to protect your BlackBerry Pearl¿ 8100 smart phone and its camera lens from bumps and scratches. It provides easy access to your smart phone thanks to a built-in thumb groove: just give your BlackBerry Pearl a gentle tug and it slides out smoothly. Plus, it features a battery-saving proximity sensor that shuts off the screen backlight as soon as you slide your smart phone into place. The sensor also allows you to switch automatically to different notification settings (for ringing, vibration or both) based on whether your smart phone is in or out of its case.

A newbe to smartphones, I just purchased the Pocket via BlackBerry's "official" accessories shop and paid, with shipping, $32. Rookie mistake that I won't make again.
To comment on the previous comments: On the official shop, this product is listed for Pearl 8100s only - so don't buy this for any other model. Also, as stated before, it's a really snug fit, but I'm hoping the leather will soften up a bit with use. The sensor works if the phone is inserted the correct way (1 of the 4 ways that it fits.) This helped me figure out how the phone was supposed to go in the pocket :-) Inserted correctly, the camera lens is protected by just about a quarter of an inch (not much) and the camera flash is left exposed (for what it's worth.)

I was looking for something simple and cheap (but not chintzy) to protect my Pearl. This fit the bill perfectly. Compare this to the overpriced garbage available in the T-Mobile retail stores, and it is an even better deal.

This is my second one replacing one was confused for a rawhide by my pup. The sleeper function is great and not aways available in non OEM. Nice profile and good protection in my pocket. Fit may be too tight, making it hard to remove from the case with one hand
