A newbe to smartphones, I just purchased the Pocket via BlackBerry's "official" accessories shop and paid, with shipping, $32. Rookie mistake that I won't make again.

To comment on the previous comments: On the official shop, this product is listed for Pearl 8100s only - so don't buy this for any other model.

Also, as stated before, it's a really snug fit, but I'm hoping the leather will soften up a bit with use.

The sensor works if the phone is inserted the correct way (1 of the 4 ways that it fits.) This helped me figure out how the phone was supposed to go in the pocket :-) Inserted correctly, the camera lens is protected by just about a quarter of an inch (not much) and the camera flash is left exposed (for what it's worth.)

I was looking for something simple and cheap (but not chintzy) to protect my Pearl. This fit the bill perfectly. Compare this to the overpriced garbage available in the T-Mobile retail stores, and it is an even better deal.

This is my second one replacing one was confused for a rawhide by my pup. The sleeper function is great and not aways available in non OEM. Nice profile and good protection in my pocket. Fit may be too tight, making it hard to remove from the case with one hand

I bought the cover for my BB8100. It looks ok although I anticipated a more leatherly feel- Good cover although not too convinent to tot around.

Case sent was not product depicted. There is no thumb notch, so the phone is a bit harder to remove.
Also not sure if it is really leather (as was advertised) or vinyl imitation.
Nonetheless it fits the phone nicely and has the little magnet to trigger the proximity sensor and turn of the screen when the phone is in the case. Delivery was fast and for the inexpensive price, would buy it again.

Received product in timely fashion as advertised. Product was in great condition. Would buy again from this vendor.

I recently bought this sleeve from a seller for .99 advertising it as "leather" when in fact it is not. It seems it is the same PVC sleeve that is initially given with the product. I've owned my current leather wallet for a few years- I've owned this sleeve for a few months and it's already splitting down the back like my original one.
So beware- it may say leather, but in all actuality...

Tight fit and the phone fits only one way or keys can snag; will probably fit both ways as case 'relaxes' with use. Turns screen off automatically. I wanted an option to my rubber skin as that snags in pockets and dust can get into the screen. Leather with RIM logos, all in all great product and price.

I have lost my phone (and pocket). The pocket came with my phone, so I am about to purchase a new one for the replacement. I'm glad to hear the leather is not nubby like the picture shows. My original was smooth. The reviewer that says the edge material comes off easy is correct; but the leather stays together even after it comes off so it is really just a cosmetic thing. (Although I have a hunch it helps keep them together in the case of moisture or something. The material is kinda rubbery.)

The pocket is great because it protects your phone while not in use when you throw it in your pocket or bag or whatever. And when you actually use your phone there is no hindering rubber skin or any such nonsense. The phone's not going to get scratched while you are talking on it! Of course, pocket is easy to lose from the phone for this reason.

The "sensor" is actually a weak magnet. Try it! Get a kinda strong magnet and check (don't remember if paper clips worked, but my fridge magnets were ok). Check the pocket if you have it and your own phone if you are brave. So, if you want this for the "sensor" capability but already have a case you like better, I would suggest retrofitting a magnet into your current case if you feel crafty. The magnet needs to go right over the trackball or thereabouts. That's also why putting the phone in the right way is important.

The case does not protect the top from scratches, much to the dismay of people that care for that kind of thing. It does protect the important parts though: camera lens, screen, buttons/trackball, etc. And that's all I care about. Plus the magnet makes remembering to put my phone on vibrate or silent for class and movies a breeze. Well worth the cheap price here on Amazon if all of this appeals to you.

Meets the expectation. Infact it was better than what I recieved originaly with the phone. There is a smooth lining on the borders that make it feel soft, smooth and look good on the edge. The original one that came is box didn't had that. Great for the price of $3.
