The WORST PHONE one could buy,
By
This review is from: BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8230 Phone, Silver (Verizon Wireless) (Wireless Phone)
This phone is complete garbage, plain and simple. I am on my 3rd replacement. During the day an hour glass will come up on the screen and stay there for an hour. You can't make calls or answer calls. The message for voice mail and texts just disappeared, literally. It isn't something I did or hid. I went to text support, and they said that it sometimes happens. Verizon told me to download the blackberry software which is pure crap. It doesn't do anything like Apple's Itunes does for Ipods or Iphones. The screen constantly just goes blank. I would be better off getting a sting with a tin can attatched to it when I got to make a phone call. DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE! Listen to somebody that has had to put up with this piece of garbage for over a year now. These good reviews must have just bought their phone. Give it 1 month and all hell breaks lose with this piece of garbage.

Blackberries are great phones, but they're too big! The Pearl flip is the smallest smart phone I've found that's able to sync up with my MS Outlook at work. I was a little worried about the lack of a full QWERTY keyboard, but after three days of practice, I don't even notice. Texting, internet, everything works fine AND, when it's time to make a call, nice big buttons that you can dial while driving without putting those around you at risk. This is not a good phone for you if you're the type that's on the internet a lot, sending a ton of emails, etc. However, if you want a small convenient phone with all your contacts and schedule from work and still primary purpose is a phone, then this is the one for you. Hurry though. I was told by Verizon that they're phasing these out.

Bought this phone for my wife, who wanted a flip phone with a qwerty keyboard. Took a little time to learn how to use the phone, but overall solid phone.

minus zero lemon flip phone,
This review is from: BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8230 Phone, Silver (Verizon Wireless) (Wireless Phone)
This is the worst Verizon Blackberry phone EVER!!! I am on my 4th "replacement" - which is an insult to the intelligence of all consumers in the universe. This phone starts and shuts off anytime day or night. It hangs up on calls. It does not work consistently for one single 24 hour period. Verizon has the audacity to zombishly repeat their "policy" that they will replace the same model phone...Am I insane or has the world gone insane? Why would I repeatedly get the same model anything that continuously fail to deliver its intended purpose. To make matters worse I am a healthcare provider and this phone has completely shut off during my on-call hours...unconscionable a my blood pressure goes through the roof when I either call Verizon or go in person to the store and they repeat their moronic scripts that they will only replace it with the same model...or I can pony up hundreds of dollars to either break the contract or buy another model phone...Something must be done about this. The wireless companies are soaking in money and illegally holding us hostage to their endless prison contracts...In the end the customer ALWAYS lose their money, their income when trying to use Verizon cell phones and their dignity by the machine like customer service offered by Verizon...Pity.

Meets medium expectations,
I just needed a phone with no bells and whistles, and this met my expectations. I like the texting keyboard and the touch screen, but the contact navigation can be a little bit tedious. There's voice-activated controls, though, so that's a plus. I don't use the data plan, so I have no reviews on the data capabilities of this phone. Reception is good.
