Does the job but....., February 24, 2010
This review is from: Blackhawk Sling Adapter (Misc.)
I bought this adapter to fit my ATI replacement grip which extends to the very back of the lower receiver. I needed an adapter with the same outer profile as the stock plate. The rear facing ring does the job well, but it extends just far enough backward that it prevents my 6 position collapsible stock from locking into its innermost position (completely collapsed.) This is a minor nuisance, but a nuisance nonetheless.

A decent mount with one minor flaw, September 20, 2010
This review is from: Blackhawk Sling Adapter (Misc.)
-MY OWN MEASUREMENTS-
Mount loop inner diameter: 5/16"
Clearance required: 11/16"
Weight: 0.7oz
Flush?: Yes; actually it's a bit smaller than the lower's profile all around
If you want a single point sling mount without adding protruding ears to the back of your rifle, there are a few options. There's some REALLY nice Quick Detach (hereafter: QD) stuff out there, but it'll run you upwards of $100 or MORE. After weeding out the ridiculously overpriced stuff, I decided to go with this one mainly for the simplicity and affordability. Unlike Noveske's Ar15/M16 Qd Sling Adapter & Swivel Qd Receiver End Plate, you don't need expensive QD adapters (or slings with QD mounts already sewn on); any hook style clip will do. I just happened to have a chalker single point sling laying around so this ended up saving me the most money while keeping my rifle's profile stock.
It works as advertised, feels strong and solid. The mount loop is attached to the plate with a thick screw, factory locktite, and an internal tooth lock washer - getting it off to satisfy my curiosity took a GREAT deal of force. I doubt it'll ever come loose on you, but if it does, you'll need a 1/8" Allen key. Once off I found that it's keyed so that it cannot twist, even if it were to loosen. While this is a good thing, it also means shortening it (more on why later) by grinding the back is impossible.
My only complaint is one that others have already made: My Magpul CTR (on a mil-spec buffer tube) can't lock into the first position as it doesn't leave enough clearance from the back of my lower to the front of the fully collapsed stock. This is where Noveske's Ar15/M16 Qd Sling Adapter & Swivel Qd Receiver End Plate might prove to be the better option, if not ultimately a deeper investment. In practice you never really need to lock your stock in the closest position but it would have nice if Blackhawk trimmed it down just a smidge. Also, the exposed edge of the plate isn't rounded. It isn't particularly sharp and doesn't look particularly out of place, but it is just another reminder that you only paid $20 or so for the part.

Works as advertised, July 27, 2010

Works great on my M&P15T. Stock collapses all the way no problem. Installation is standard. There are videos on Youtube if you're not sure how to do it.
