Good ratchet but not the miracle tool.,
This review is from: BlackHawk by Proto 34950R 3/8" Drive Rotator Ratchet (Tools & Home Improvement)
The overall build of the tool is pretty good. Solid ratcheting action, positive socket engagement, quality switching for direction. It didn't work for the certain part job I wanted, but worked great on another portion of the job which I've had to repeat many times.
Downsides. I bought the 1/4" version. It's supposed to be for tight spaces. The overall ratchet needs to be shorter (are you listening Stanley tools?). And to top it off, if you put a 1/4" reciever on the handle end, you could put a 1/4" chuck with an electric impact. What I find very interesting is that no matter what direction you twist the handle, the head will turn the same way until you switch the direction on the head. Is it the perfect tool? Maybe if you have a job that requires it. If they shorten the handles, might even be more effective.

Blackhawk Rotating Ratchet is a "Must Have" for mechanics,

This 3/8' drive rotating ratchet tool is fantastic! The twist handle function works great on nuts and bolts in tight locations where there's little room to swing a standard wrench or ratchet handle. You may still need to use a regular wrench to break a very tight fastener free and a torque wrench to retighten to spec's but this tool makes turning the fasteners in and out a breeze. I wouldn't recommend this tool for heavy duty use like wheel lugs or brake caliper bolts but for light to medium mechanical work it's become my "daily driver".

Great tool for places you don't have a lot of room to move your ratchet. The head is a little big and it requires 2 hands to change the ratcheting direction otherwise I would give it a 5.

I found this ratchet on accident while surfing the web a while back. The usefulness of it's unique feature became apparent to me immediately and I bought it. It's heavier than all of my other ratchets of that size and it's thicker at the head too, but that's to be expected given the linkages inside. I love the handle, it's big enough to fill up my hand and allows me to really put some pressure on it without it hurting.
I've not been a big PROTO tools guy in the past, I've used them for work but I've never bought them. For the money, having the ability to twist the handle and drive the ratchet without having to swing the handle makes this one of my favorite tools in my kit. If I break it, I'll have no problems buying another one, it's that useful to me.

lifesaver...great product, comfortable feel, smooth operation. why did i wait so long to get one? A must have especially in tight spaces where you can not swing the ratchet. First real use was weekend I received it on an alternator change. Bad angles and no room to move.....but then came the blackhawk...spinning handle.
