Product Description

The BlackRapid Metro Compact Sling Camera Strap offers lightweight ease of access to your camera. The Metro Strap is worn diagonally across the torso from shoulder to hip and is adjustable. The pad has a mesh underside for comfort and breathability. The locking FastenR-3 screws into the tripod socket, and the ConnectR-2 attaches the fastener to the strap. Once connected, the camera hangs upside down, resting securely. You can maneuver easily through a crowd, carry a tripod or other gear, or simply have both hands free.

From the Manufacturer

Metro, camera strap black ballistic nylon, adjustable length nylon webbing, Includes connector (CR-2), & fastener (FR-3) hardware.

I was getting really annoyed with my Lowepro neck strap. It hurts my neck after having the camera hang there for about 20 or 30 minutes. But if I take it off my neck, it gets in the way when I take a picture. I've been taking a street photography class, which requires me to wear my camera for 3 hours at a time, and I just can't handle the neck strap anymore.

I stumbled upon the Blackrapid strap on someone's review video on YouTube, and ordered it on Amazon. I wish I learned about this product long time ago. It is one of the most useful piece of equipment I've ever purchased. It's very comfortable to wear (I'm 5'4", medium build) for 2 or 3 hours at a time, and the camera just hangs on my side. I've used this with my Canon 7D with the 50mm lens, 70-200mm L lens, and my 24-70 L lens all with good results. When I need to take a picture, the camera slides up without having the neck strap getting in the way. I can take the picture in portrait or landscape orientation with no issues and no fuss.

I like how light this strap is. I don't have the other models to compare this with, but I like that it's very slim with no excess padding or bulk.

Buy this strap. You won't regret it.

I've followed Black Rapid since they offered their first sling-style strap (which I bought). I believe that they had an excellent concept for an alternative to the 2-point over-the-neck camera strap. The Metro model, which I've recently purchased here, is a -slight- refinement on Black Rapid's earlier models. But whereas BR's other bulky models may be appropriate for carrying big, heavy dslr cameras I think that BR is slightly missing the design boat for a strap to carry today's smaller, lighter cameras such as the Sony A7, the Fujifilm X line, and even a Leica M.

Specifically, the attachment hardware is far too bulky for these cameras. That steel carabiner might be fine for ascending Everest but it's overkill for cameras weighing only a pound or two. Worse, it poses a real smash hazard to cameras' lcd screens. Surely there are countless leighter-weight, less bulky quick-release connection alternatives to these riggers' carabiners?!

An why hasn't Black Rapid redesigned its shoulder pads to feature tacky rubber yet? The pad ends typically up in the middle of your back after just a few camera lifts.

I second shoot Weddings sometimes and run behind a two year old trying to take pictures. I found that the old style of camera strap with the two points of contact would get caught on my elbows if I needed to pull the camera up quickly. I have not had this problem while using this strap. I can maneuver the camera easily and if i need to it's very easy to UN-clip.

Yes I would recommend this to a friend.

This is a great strap for my Fuji X100s. I did have one accident with it though... Camera fell right off from it. You have to tighten it until you can feel a light click. I didn't know that and the camera fell off on to the ground. No problem since learning that experience.

If you're looking for a slim strap that folds up well for travel, you can't beat BlackRapid. The strap comes in a nice little box (with a BlackRapid sticker inside, natch) and the latest version of BlackRapid's Fasten-R camera anchor.

If you're worried about your camera falling off ("how can you attach something to the tripod mount and expect it to be secure?!"), don't be. I've used this strap's big brother with a Canon 5DII and a 70-200 2.8 IS (read: nearly 10lbs of camera hardware) and it held up perfectly.

My other BlackRapid strap (the RS-5, I think) is the piece of camera hardware I've owned the longest. If you treat these well, they'll last you through body and lens upgrades. A good investment.

This is the best camera strap I've owned. It's built from quality materials and keeps secure with the camera. Definitely worth the money!

I'd gotten tired of using the strap that came with my NEX-5 as it would eventually start digging into my skin and cause by shoulders to hurt when I went on long hikes. I'd been contemplating whether to get a bag or a strap that has some cushioning when a friend showed me a BlackRapid strap he was using for his D5000. I loved how the fastening mechanism worked, so I though I should invest in one.

Now it's been a few months since I've had the BlackRapid Metro camera strap and I am very please with it. It's light and durable with the right amount of padding, making it a joy to use even on long trips (4+ hour hikes, walking downtown all afternoon, etc). Because of the sliding mechanism, it's also made taking pictures a breeze as I can take my camera from hip to eye level without the neck strap getting in the way.

No regrets here.
