BlackHawk SOLAG gloves w/ Kevlar,

Before I purchased these gloves, I read the other reviews of them on various sites, after getting them yesterday I think I can address some concerns other people might have about these gloves.
1) Size: Some reviewers have an issue with sizing, complaints ranging from "too tight" to the fingers being all the same length. These gloves are made partially of leather, primarily the palms; all leather-made goods have a "break in" period (belts, shoes, holsters, etc) where they will feel tighter and smaller than you expected. This is normal until the leather relaxes a bit. That said, keep in mind that not everyone's hands are the same, some people have thicker hands than others (mechanics in particular), if you think you fall into this category...you should try to locate a BlackHawk dealer and try the gloves on in the store. I measured the length of the fingers on my gloves...and they aren't the same. 2) Stitching: Yes, there is a lot of stitching present. I noticed a few people who had issues with there being too many stitches on the palms. This is a strength issue. These gloves are made of leather, and they're expected to see a lot of use, consequently there are a lot of stitches present to ensure the gloves don't come apart at the seams. 3) Made in China: Yes, these gloves are made in China. The package my gloves came in had this labeled clearly. The website here says they're made in the USA. I believe this is a problem with the item description being outdated or just wrong. However, are you really surprised? I wasn't able to find a pair of American made cut/flame/flash-resistant gloves that included everything I was looking for (padding, Kevlar cut/flame/flash, leather palm, double closure, end at the wrist). Don't get me wrong, there ARE Kevlar cut/flame/flash-resistant gloves which are made in the USA, but none that I found fitted my criteria. If I happen to find some that have everything I want, but are made in the USA, I'd gladly ditch these in a flash. That being said, in my opinion, there is nothing "low quality" about these gloves. They're as I expected them to be. I deducted one star for one reason, the joining between the index finger and the thumb, where a rifle or pistol (depending on type and model) may wear on the gloves, probably should have an aditional layer. I don't know how much this might affect the life of the glove...probably not much...but it is something to consider, depending on what types of rifles or pistols you carry.

Awesome gloves - combat real or airsoft,

These are solidly done. Love the features - padded tops of the fingers, grippy fingertips, great dexterity. Good in actual situations or even for airsoft. The only drawback I found was a small amount of stitching came undone after a short time. Sizing is close - yet for a size 9 hand (med) - I think the large would have done better for me.

Good, so far. (HD),
I purchased the HD version of these gloves, and so far they are more than expected. They are tough, they hold up well, and the sizing via Amazon was perfect. The only issue I have, as stated on the HD version, is it's region between thumb and pointer is a bit tight/stiff.Update (2011/10/24): Tightness has worn in, kevlar and stitching has held up. Durability 5/5 Warmth 4/5 Sizing 5/5 Dexterity 5/5 Protection Unrated By far worth the money, I will never buy any other gloves other than BlackHawk again.

blackhawk tactical gloves with nomex,

Well the reason I purchased this is because my quadrail transfers alot of heat to my pistol grip. After about 100-200rds. It gets very uncomfortable. But with these gloves I don't even feel my grip getting warm. I fired off 2 75rd drums one after the other as fast as i could pull the trigger and still didnt feel a bit of heat im my hand. Im very happy with them. they are everything I could have needed and more. They seem very rugged and I think they will last me along time.

Ordered these for my boyfriend, who is a cop. They're good multi-purpose gloves and, if you're worried about matching the rest of your gear, you can't go wrong with black. You can't really see the brand name either, if that is an issue. Not very warm, but they're combat gloves, not winter mittens.

Let's start with the good, gloves fit very nice. The double velcro straps are awesome and fit very nicely. The padding for the knuckles sits right where it supposed to. The material used to make these gloves is very soft and flexible from the start. Now the bad, all the finger lengths are perfect except for the thumb. Maybe I have big thumbs but I have 3 other pairs of gloves and don't have any issues. The thumb length on these gloves is really small. My thumbs come right to the tip and feel like there being pressed on the whole time. The area between the index finger and thumb is stretched to the max and looks like it's going to tear. I've used these glove for multiple things like building a tent, lifting some weights, and maintenance on Helos. These gloves are not made for cold weather but good gloves over all. The reason for the 3 stars is the poor fit on the thumbs and a little pricey.

A simple, fatal flaw,
These would be great gloves but for one problem. The construction of the palm has a seam that runs from the middle of the palm up to between the index finger and thumb. If you were to turn the glove inside out, you would find a ridge of material stitched together right along that line. (No big deal when you're just wearing the gloves.) Now picture the pistol grip of a firearm pressing back into your palm-- and the ridge of material being pressed against the palm. Manipulate the weapon for long (especially in high-ready)and you may find (as I did) that your palm gets sore (really sore as a long day progresses) along that ridge. A smoother feel to the grip would be a great improvement.

These gloves are useful for a bunch of things, but paradoxically, I found them a bit awkward for pistol shooting: maybe it was because they were brand new and stiff, but all in all, like them. Very well made. Too early to comment on durability. It shouldn't be an issue.
