Great pants, very comfortable and durable.

Comfortable, fit great. like the extra wide belt loops, elastic waistband, and the rubber grip strip in waste band that helps keep shirt tails tucked in.
Tim Alexander
In addition to the pockets mentioned above the Blackhawk also has a small zipper pocket located just above the right rear cargo pocket.

I love the fabric and tailoring of these pants, my first Blackhawk pair. Half of the pants in my closet are cargo/hiking pants, and I immediately realized how good the quality of these tac pants are, besting my other oft-used hiking pants. These are obviously designed with rough everyday military use in mind, but of course for a non-military but an avid hiker like myself it is quite suitable. It fits me just right (32Wx30L) and it hangs on my hips very comfortably. I don't feel skin on my legs or buttocks getting pulled when I sit or move since the crotch is gusseted and the legs are roomy. No worries about putting these on in the cold months because there's sufficient room for thermal pants, even those made of fleece.

The garters on the hips which give the waist some play is an innovation that I first saw on these pants. There are plenty of pockets, and the discreet zippered ones on the right hip both front and back are a thoughtful addition, significantly cutting the risk of wallet/key lost when you're out in some jungle crawling or rolling about in maneuvers. Though I likely won't be doing such maneuvers myself, when out hiking in the boondocks you would slip and slide on some trail once in a while, and I won't have to worry about losing important stuff stashed in the zippered extra pockets which the cargo pockets also have.

The DWR (durable water repellent) treatment is another thoughtful feature; it happened to rain the night I first wore these and unlike my other cargo pants that are made of cotton twill, which soak up water droplets, the fabric didn't seem to have gotten wet at all.

I bought these pants as well as a pair of 5.11 #74273 Men's TacLite Pro Pant. Both are good quality pants, but I prefer the Blackhawk pants.

As far as comfort I found them both about the same. They both fit well in the waist but were not too tight. I've been hiking in mountainous areas in both pants and they were both loose enough to not be restrictive when you need freedom of movement. The material of both pants was breathable. I just went on a trip to Death Valley and while it was "only" around 100F this time of year I never felt my legs get very hot in either pants. Both seem to be well constructed and made of quality material. As for carry space, both have four large cargo pockets on the front and back about where your normal jean pockets would be located. The front ones are open and the rear ones have a single small patch of Velcro in the middle. Both pants also have a cargo pocket on the side of each leg with a flap that Velcros shut to totally close the pocket. In addition both have a small utility pocket on the front of each leg (middle of your quads) about the size of an iPhone. On the Blackhawk both of these pockets have a Velcro flap to be completely shut. On the 5.11 the left pocket is like that, but the right one is just a slit with no flap on top and is clearly meant to hold an ID card, driver's license, or credit card sized item. Both pants also have a small loop on the right front just under the belt line you can use to attach a lanyard. The Blackhawk's loop is made of cord while the 5.11 is metal.

In addition to the pockets mentioned above the Blackhawk also has a small zipper pocket located just above the right rear cargo pocket.

I bought these pants thinking they would fit like my Marpat uniform pants (I'm in the Marines.) however, they are huge on me! I love the pockets and all the bells and whistles, But the pants are soooo baggy my wife cracked jokes at me saying it looked like I was wearing MC Hammer pants. Also keep in mind if you are using a drop holster, you lose usage of 4 pockets on the leg. I would totally wear the pants all the time, they're super comfortable, awesome pockets, durable, but just make me look completely ridiculous. I will be spending the next couple weeks trying to sell these pants to some one that will get better usage out of them than I will.

So this is my first pair of BH pants. Absolutely love them. Durable, great fit (ordered same size as I get Levis 501s in) and the hidden elastic in the waistband is a welcome feature. The pockets are great, the lower leg pockets even have elastic dividers on the inside...useful for securing a tactical flashlight, knife, or other similar-sized object. There are four pockets with zippers on them (the two lower fronts, one on the right size and one on the right rear) and those work great, even if they are a tad small for a gloved hand. The small front pockets are just right for holding a magazine from my S&W M&P 9mm.

The Khaki color is fine...about what I'd expect for Khaki. I will def be ordering more of these in the future. Shipping from Optics Planet was fine. Very smooth transaction to go with a great product.

This is a good product by Blackhawk. It was shipped and arrived as scheduled. The only problem is this is NOT OD GREEN. It is much lighter green. If you don't mind the lighter color the pants is great. I am okay with the color and will be looking into other colors in the future but probably not the OD Green again.
