PRODUCTS I HAVE TRIED

Nylon holsters with and without strap - .357 Magnum
Nylon holsters with strap - .45 Caliber 1911
Galco Stow-N-Go

DESIGN:

Many holsters exist and it is quite difficult trying to find which works out best for your pistol. Comprised of Black Carbon Fiber, this system is stable and sturdy. Instead of Nylon or Neoprene, this holster is made of a more solid. It does not scratch the metal slide. A simple button allows a lightning fast release with your hand in the ready to fire position. The weapon cannot be removed unless you push the button and slide the weapon up. Placing the gun back into the holster is easy and seamless (I recommend that you practice, unloaded, before you try this with a chambered bullet).

No visible metal components do allow for a perfect profile without any type of discernible sound when walking. You can hang your pistol on the belt or by the included paddle attachment. The paddle hugs the holster closer to you than the belt attachment. With the paddle, there is more equal weight distribution, allowing for a more comfortable carry and less strain on your pants/belt. It does seem to hang quite low for me, and the only way that I can see this working out for concealed carry is one of two ways: 1) Coat that is below the inseam 2) Shirt that is fit larger than average shirt (untucked), such as a sports jersey (i.e. Hockey, Baseball or Football Jersey). Carrying on the belt attachment keeps the gun even further from your waistline, making the gun obvious to an astute observer.

This is not an ideal holster for concealed carry given the width without a jacket.

I like the Blackhawk Serpa holsters, but this one is advertised as being for a Taurus Judge with a 3" barrel. What the seller (and Blackhawk) fail to mention is that this is for the Judge with a 2 1/2" chamber. The Serpa lock system will not engage the trigger guard if you have the Judge model with the 3" chamber. This is a really good holster, but be aware of the difference in chamber dimensions and don't buy this if you have the 3" chamber.

I really like the index finger release which works very well, and also promotes good gun handling practice because your finger ends up off of the trigger, and on the frame after draw.

The only down side I see is that it is not as concealed as I had hoped. Blackhawk did a good job designing it to slim it down as much as possible, but of course it is not an IWB holster.

This will be my preferred holster once fall/winter rolls around, and I have a coat to help cover up.

Good quality holster for concealed carry with a baggy shirt or jacket.

I think this holster fails in concealment. With the paddle, the holster holds the firearm such that the grip is several inches away from the body and angles the barrel in towards the leg. With the grip away from the body it makes it nearly impossible to "conceal". There is a huge "shelf" at your side.

It might not bother me so much, but it is called "Close Quarters Concealment" or "Serpa Concealment".

I bought one for both my small Glock 26 and my large hunting G20. I have no expectations of hiding an external holster under a t-shirt, but still want something that is less than immediately obvious when wearing a jacket. My purpose in getting these was for active outdoor activities such as hunting where I wanted something more comfortable than an in the waistband type. My past experience is with a Fobus paddle holster. The Fobus holds the firearm more or less at the opposite angle. The grip is pulled in towards the body and fits in the hollow of the hip and the barrel pointed slightly away from the leg (sounds safer too). Clothing can now more nicely drape over the firearm and holster. Also, my G26 jiggles front to back a little regardless how tight I have the adjustment screw.

I really wanted to like this model. The build quality seems nice. The locking mechanism seems great. It seems like a good step forward in many directions, but takes one or two backwards with respect to having a small footprint and conceal ability. If you are into production level action shooting, this might be a great option for you as the draw is smooth and easy. The belt loop attachment looks like it might hold the firearm in a more vertical position, but still a little more offset than say the Fobus. The Fobus isn't perfect either, just using that as my reference. The holster does have some great features, but it just does not do what I need it to do. Maybe it will be better for you. Cheers!

I am very pleased with this product. I had trouble finding solid reviews about this product matching my gun. This product is labeled for xd use, and wasnt sure how and if it would fit my Springfield XD(M)40. (4.5)barrel. However, it fit perfectly, no problem. No modification needed. Snaps good, unholsters great, and simply the price cant be beat. very happy with the quality and accessories of this product.

This is an excellent value. This is all around one of the best holsters you can buy. It is a bit bulky for ccw, but you could get away with it in the winter time. For open carry this thing is a dream. Also for going to the range or competing in competitions this works well. The serpa lock system is truly amazing. This will be my Glock 23's new home when I am not CCW. If you are looking for CCW holster that won't break the bank look and the Galco tuck and go, another wonderful holster. As far as the shipping goes, I ordered it on Wednesday and it was at my house Saturday afternoon. you cant go wrong with this holster.
