I went with the blackhawk specops for my remington 870 express, based on my experience and knowledge of the blackhawk name. I wasnt disappointed in the least bit this time either. First off I was totally suprised by how fast i received it.The quality was apparent from the packaging, directions, etc. Yes its plastic but the strongest you can get. I have no fear of being able to break this thing if i tried . It came with everything I needed to take off rear stock (Long allen wrench,) and it went on flawlessly and easily with all seams matching flush. Feels real secure, and doesnt feel like it would come ever loose. For the forearm piece which was included with mine, even though it wasnt in the add, you re supposed to have a special tool to take the nut like thing off , but I found that some gentle tapping with ma mallot and a proper length flathead scewdriver was sufficient. A little black tape or similar around the blade will keep scratching to a minimum. Another thing i did was camo'd it up prior to installation, and I think it looks factory. i would recommend this stock to everyone

Received it yesterday, installed it last night and put 10 round through my Mossberg 500 12ga this morning. Really nice, and a heck of an improvement over the Hogue pistol grip of which I replaced. The pistol grip kills your hand after a couple rounds. This does not. The only thing, the fore end grip will not fit my model 500. Don't know why, as apparently some fit, some don't. Blackhawk offered to send me another one, free of charge, but he said the result would probably be the same.
Great customer service and an excellent product.

This stock is very thick and sturdy. Never have to worry about breaking this thing. It went on my Maverick 88 with ease. Blackhawk makes real great products and worth every penny.

I was exceptical about this product. Didn't knew what to expect. Then I thought: it's BlackHawk, so definetely has to be amazing quality.
And that was it, Compared it to an ATI collapsible stock, and gave the ATI free of charge to a friend, since the difference was too much.

Although a bit bulky, this is a great upgrade from any standard Mossberg stock. Installation is very easy. The addition of the foregrip make the deal even sweeter. Although the foregrip was not able to be installed on my shotgun, it's still nice to get both pieces for one low price. Fit with the Mossberg was pretty good, not quite what I expected but still a great upgrade from a standard stock.

This stock is fits really snug and is made of some hard plastic with a removable soft rubber plate on the end for your shoulder. The set includes a long Allen wrench for easy install. There is NO gap to be seen on my Mossberg 500, also there is a pre-installed mount to add a sling. Comes with directions and also a complete forward grip to replace the original which isn't even shown in the pics.

I bought this butt stock from MidwayUSA, so I did not get the extra replacement fore end like people seem to get with this. I actually NEEDED the fore end in the first place, since ever Mossberg 500 I know of will have the wooden fore end split after a couple of years of use.

At any rate, I had a fun time getting my original stock off. Once I got it off the gun, this was easy to install. There was not a perfect match up at first between the stock and the receiver; however after working with tightening it down consistently it snugged up properly and left no gaps.

The product itself is great. It does everything it should and for those woried about "looking cool" it can accomplish that as well. That's not my purpose with it, but whatever. My only problems with this are actually with the design of the Mossberg.

I had to buy raised sights because the comb of the new stock raises my line of sight up above where it should be (that COULD be a problem with the stock design and not the gun but I'm not so sure - it's just a slight incompatability). That is detremental because one benefit of a good shotgun is that you can get your line of sight down right on top of the barrel. Even with raised Tru-Glo I have to extend the stock completely to allow my face to rest where I can line the sights up. I also have to really press my cheek in which can cause some discomfort over time.

The safety is in the wrong spot for a pistol grip. It's a tang safety so you have to reach over the top with your thumb to engage/disengage it. Not horrible, but annoying.

As some others have mentioned, the slide release is hard to engage. This is not a problem while shooting due to not needing to manually release it after a shot, but for loading up it can be slightly annoying.

Also, with a pistol grip you can get into a form where your hand absorbs more of the recoil than it should instead of allowing it to transfer to your shoulder. So you could have a very sore hand for a couple of days after a long shooting trip. That is no different than any other pistol grip.

In summary, I love this stock, it is great, it feels good and looks good. It's good quality as well. If I had a Remington 700 with a trigger guard safety I'd probably like it more.

I can't fault the stock for that. So I'll give it 4 stars. Great product. Just think twice about the layout of your gun and how this stock will change how you interact with that layout.

Bought this stock to turn my Mossberg 500 field and security combo into a tactical shotgun. I was very impressed with the ease of assembly of this... bolts right on with same bolt that holds your current stock on. Its telescopically adjustable to 5 positions and has nice padding at the end for shootin those slugs.
I love this AR-15 model stock.

Good quality, easy to install, I would recommend this to anyone wanting to upgrade their Mossberg 500.

I went from a pistol grip to this grip. I have not had alot of use out of the new stock yet, but it was attached very easily. It feels sturdy. It is everything that it said for a reasonable price.
