I have to say that i am completely byaste with this game as i have a thing for the old Blade. So in fairness i shall try to write a fair review without going into too much of my obsession with the man with fangs they call the Daywalker.

I have to say that i am completely byaste with this game as i have a thing for the old Blade. So in fairness i shall try to write a fair review without going into too much of my obsession with the man with fangs they call the Daywalker.

The game has faults, lets say it and lots of them. Graphcailly this is 5 years behind the times if not more and the repative nature of the game can irk some but its just so much fun to play.

For me this is gameplay over style and i really enjoyed the GAMEPLAY here. The very different combat system is quite good and takes very little time to adjust to and allows you to kick vamps from all directions.

I mean there aint much too it. Walk in a room and fight/or blast/or cut yah way through vamp baddies. Do this over and over again. However, some of the scenes are great. As mentioned one of the most memorable sets from this game is the disco and its a pity there ain't more like this cause it rocked. I guarrentee this will be yah favourite part of the game as you hear the music get louder and louder as you approach the floor.

All the AI disintercrates when killed like the movie and Blades one-liners are there.

The storylines (there all mission based) arent that exciting and Whistler gets annoying but once again the gameplay outweighs these few nuisnaces.

I won't say anymore cause its all been said but if you can pick this game up cheap do it cause its fun and you can play it once, put it away for a couple of months and then get it out again.

A faulty game but hell, its fun, has some of the Blade coolness and has some great music that will have you humming as you play...

So yeah, it has its faults but tis fun with a captial F. If u want graphically enhanced gameplay get Splinter Cell or Metal Gear Soild 2. If you want some fun without all the extras get Blade 2.

3.0 out of 5 stars Blade 2, what can you say?, August 16, 2003

This review is from: Blade 2 (Video Game)
After seeing the movie I had to get this game. The game on some levels exceeded my expectations but there are some negatives that I'll get to later. The new fighting control is a good addition. You use it in multi-directions when fighting. The cinematic features are good when you defeat your foes. The sword is awesome, but your only able to use it when you build up your rage. That was one thing I didn't like, but you can always use a cheat code. The UV grenades are probably the best and most effective weapon, but you only get them far into the game. The gameplay is good, and you'll have a lot of fun once you get to the club level. Some negatives though are the character Blade. In the very beginning you can notice that they could've made him a lot better. He doesn't even look close to Wesley Snipes in the face. But throughout the game you'll just see mostly his backside so its hard to notice. A big disappointment to me, (and if you've seen the movie you'll understand) is that the main villian from the movie (Nomack) isn't even in the game. If he was in the game I think it would be that much better. He's a tough villian and this game could've been one of the best if he was in it. I've beat this game, and I thought maybe the creators make up for it with a different bad guy at the end. It was pathetic. All there is, is some huge fat vampire sitting behind glass, and you don't even fight him. You fight some deformed creatures, which may seem tough at first but are easy to defeat if you know how. The ending was such a letdown to an otherwise decent game. It is worth playing however, and the distinct levels add depth to this game.

5.0 out of 5 stars {UNLEASH JUSTICE WITH EXTREME AUTHORITY!}, May 29, 2003
This review is from: Blade 2 (Video Game)
Vampires, relentless predators that stalk only one type of prey: humans. For countless generations there was very little to stand between mankind and the hungering darkness. Until now. He is Blade, the daywalker, and he's the vampires' worst nightmare. Use martial arts, guns and the sword of the daywalker in a dance of death with your inhuman enemies. Keep the forces of evil at bay with you 360-degree combat system and unstoppable rage powers. Deliver last rites to your vile vampire victims with grusome, over-the-top finishing moves. Uleash the fury of BLADE 2 on your XBOX, the only version to include in-game Dolby Digital 5.1 sound, enhanced graphics, and faster loading time!

1.0 out of 5 stars What was I thinking?, September 10, 2002

This review is from: Blade 2 (Video Game)
In every action movie situation, there is always the possibility for a game tie-in. Enter Blade 2. What could go wrong? The first one was pretty good, right? Right? Well.. in this, just about everything went wrong. The game even starts out with a commercial for the movie. The graphics are ok. The textures are rather bland, but the backgrounds do a pretty good job of depicting the Blade 2 environment. This game is not as violent as the movie. The animations, however, are so stiff and limiting, you find yourself getting hit the most when you're throwing a punch. In the sound department, the general action sounds are nothing spectacular, but nothing to be ashamed of either. The voiceovers however, are terrible, and none of the movie's actors pop up. The music (though it sounds like a (duplicate) of the orignal soundtracks albeit without licenses) fits the scene rather well and would be perfect for a fast paced action game. This however, is the game's huge problem. The control scheme would be perfect if the player didn't get so caught up in how slow Blade moves. The targeting system is easy enough to get used to, in fact, I would even call it intuitive. His attack system (using the right analog stick to attack in a certain direction) would be perfect if Blade was actually as fast as he is in the movies. Get this: you actually have to earn the right to use that super cool sword. All in all, this game was uninspired and a complete rush job to get there in time for the movie, and I am very dissapointed. Wanna buy the game? Ok, as long as you use that "I bought both movies and I need both games" excuse, but in reality, there was no excuse for this game. Are mindless, needlessly difficult action and frustrating controls your bag, however, go ahead and buy it. For me? I wouldn't have even rented it if I knew what I was getting myself into.

3.0 out of 5 stars Its fun the first time but it has low replayability., December 27, 2006

This game is hard to find because it was released back in 2002 but if you get ahold of this game, you'll find it fun the first time you play it. the only problem is once you beat the game, you probably wont play it again. The numerous cheats for this game add a little bit of spice but overall, replayability is low.

I suggest you only get this game if you are a Blade fan and/or enjoy short term-fulfilling games.

4.0 out of 5 stars Action, violence, gore...what more could you ask for?, July 12, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Blade 2 (Video Game)
Now this is an action game. While I admit, the story seems a bit contrived, it is based on the movie (need I say more?). As a video game, Blade II excels. The moves are simple to master and although there are a few problems with the camera angles, this is typical of this type of game. Gore, violence, and rude behavior at it's best. Hack and slash your way through expansive levels as you reach your goal. Longer, more expansive levels have save points which is a great feature that gamers appreciate. Activating RAGE will send your enemies flying and splattering all over the place. If you like hack/slash action games, this one is at the top of the list.
