5.0 out of 5 stars It flys
Ok, this may be a toy - but it is a toy that requires some Adult supervision. Like a jet ski or a 4 wheeler is a toy. My CP pro 2 flys pretty well - it is twitchy compared to a larger helicopter, but this just sharpens your skills! I'm still getting my all directional hovers and forward flight down, but the Pro2 has really helped me advance my skills - I can fly it in...

3.0 out of 5 stars Blade CP Pro 2 RTF Electric Micro Helicopter
Before you purchase this one get a less advanced one. This one is very sensitive. Other than that Blade makes great Helicopters.

If you buy a blade make sure its not from Red Rocket hobbies. When you have a claim they won't help you!

Ok, this may be a toy - but it is a toy that requires some Adult supervision. Like a jet ski or a 4 wheeler is a toy. My CP pro 2 flys pretty well - it is twitchy compared to a larger helicopter, but this just sharpens your skills! I'm still getting my all directional hovers and forward flight down, but the Pro2 has really helped me advance my skills - I can fly it in my back yard and its very easy to plug in the battery and go. If you can hover in a simulator this is an excellent introduction to the hobby as it is the cheapest way to have fully capable 3d machine. Also - it is very convenient its small size means a smaller flying area is necessary and the battery pack charges in about 90 minutes (buy an extra!). It is really amazing what E-Flite has included in this package for the price: HH gyro, 6 channel transmitter, servos, speed control, receiver, charger, battery pack, etc... makes you wonder how much they rip you off when you buy the parts separately.

The first thing I will say is that if you have never had experience with model helicopters this is not for you. On the other hand if you are slight to moderate experience with helis or you have a CP Pro and you want to step up this is for you.
BE PREPARED TO SPEND AT LEAST WHAT YOU PAID FOR THE HELI IN PARTS IF YOU USE IT AS A BEGINNER HELI.
My qualifications as a pilot.I went through a CP pro as a beginner destroyed it before I could to get to the fun acrobatics.(by destroyed I mean to Fix it I would have to break 2 other things) Went through 9 batteries with the Pro 2 today, can hover steady w/o training gear and pretty much do any thing but inverted flying.
When they say ready to fly they mean plug the battery in for about 30 min put it in and its ready to do anything. This is light years better than my Blade CP pro. The heading lock gyro omg it is like learning to drive a stick with out power steering then stitching to a automatic with power steering; it is great. Second, the motors are more powerful which allows for faster corrections and a faster take off, also the tail fin on the cp pro was a stick and the tail fin on this one is a wing shape which doesn't catch in slots on the ground during low backwards flying.
The Controller
The controller has a throttle shutoff switch which is is good to have when you crash or don't want to chop your hand. It also has Hi/Lo response switch for the directional controls which makes it easier to hover steady because you move the stick more to adjust the heli. It also uses a 2.4 Ghz control instead of a 72 mhz which allows for less battery use and it only uses 4 of em.

Over all Im glad that I got this heli and I would recommend it to people who want a ready to fly heli that has enough power to do advance acrobatics.
BE WARNED THIS IS NOT A TOY DON'T BUY IT IF YOU AREN'T RESPONSIBLE ENOUGH TO HANDLE IT(you know who you are)IT CAN AND WILL HURT YOU SO DON'T BE AN IDIOT.As long as you have some sort of common sense this shouldn't be a problem to you.

1.0 out of 5 stars Stay away from Horizon Hobby which owns E-Flite, July 21, 2010

If your a little bored in your life and wish to threaten the lives of those around you; then I suggest you pick up this Helicopter.

It had the most annoying habit of going into full speed rotation with the modified carbon fiber blades just aching to cut off body parts. A fine piece of engineering if your looking for a meat cutter or a deli slicer. It could be rather novel if it was controllable, which it isn't!

So anyway the unit fried with that fine smell of burnt silicon wafting through the fun fly arena. On the table a foot away in zero speed position sat the radio all alone with no one at the controls. Well no one that is aside from the built in gremlins from Horizon Hobby. It created quite the stir at the fun fly which was attended by fifty or so dedicated fliers who were all quite horrified to witness Horizon Hobby's version of Norman Bates from Psycho.

There were ten highly skilled R/C pilots who witnessed close up the event including the owner of a hobby store that sells Horizon Hobby's products. He assured me that based upon what he witnessed that they would want to determine the problem due to safety concerns as well as stand behind their product and replace it. Oh, they didn't.

Since it fried the fine upstanding folks (sarcasm) at Horizon decided they couldn't tell why it fried. Did they call the Hobby Store owner for his input? No! Maybe they called some or any of the other witnesses, since they refused to believe me? No they didn't. They just told me that it was going to cost me more than the helicopter costs them just to repair. Oh, plus shipping and the cost to ship it to them in the first place.

So if you want to endanger your friends and family members be sure to buy this or other fine products from Horizon Hobby. Besides most of the fliers that I talk to don't recommend this aircraft or others in the Horizon Hobby fold anyway. Buy T-Rex, Align, Beam etc. You'll be happier and your friends will be safer.
