Unlike a prior reviewer stated, you can invert the controls for this game. In your Xbox system settings you can set preferences to the games you play. (invert or non-invert, analog sensitivity etc) As long as you have your preference setting in system to Invert, the game auto detects this and inverts the controls for you. (in full game only, not the demo, unless that has changed, doubt it.)

Now my review.
This game is a follow up to the game X-Blades, though it is not a sequel in anyway. X-Blades had some really nice ideas, but the general implementation was pretty poor. This game seems to address those issue and what you have is not a perfect, but a pretty fun game overall. The biggest addition is the rewind time power, this is not to like, rewind dying or accidental jump off cliff like some games. It is to be used more for some strategy based fights and some puzzles. To give an example: You come across 6 enemies, 3 grunts who melee and 3 ranged fighters. You start fighting the Grunts and range starts attacking you. Get some hits in, rewind time, this will create 2 of your toons, as you rewound character starts attacking the grunts as you did prior, you can head around to the range and start beating on them. A bit complicated to explain, but every rewind keeps whatever your character did prior, plus your now current self. If you rewind 4 times, there will be 4 of you, the past ones doing what you did prior and your controlled toon doing what you are doing currently.....ouch my head hurts. I'm sorry I'm at a lost to really give a good description, but the system works really well in game. There is a demo on XBL I would recommend to try it. The demo will not let you invert the controls though like the full game does.(unless it's been changed, though I doubt it)

I had a lot of fun with this game, it is a keeper in my collection, I would recommend trying the demo, to see if it is to your liking.

I played the first one (X Blades), and I got to say that this one is an improvement. Graphics are better, fighting mechanics are better (reminds me of God of War), and for some reason, the developers decided to give the main character an English accent. Maybe they were leaning more towards a Lara Croft-y character. Boss battles are still difficult, and lots of mindless hack n' slashin' like the first one.
Fun to play if you're not looking for something too technical, or too easy. (still trying to master the new counter attack system.....)
Oh, and the main character is still scantily clad, for all you prepubescent people out there. Enjoy!

The game story is pretty fun at the beginning but then it is getting ridiculous hard as you progressed. Boss fighting sometimes take hours to complete, to the point of total frustration and gave up. This took the fun out of me. I am a casual gamer, maybe play one or two evenings a week, I do not have much time to practice. Most of time, I can complete any game at "normal" mode, but not this one. Unfortunately, this game has only Normal and Hard setting. Besides the story mode, there is an Outbreak mode in which you play one chapter at a time. Normal or hard in the mode does not seem to make much different, and I can complete in both difficulty setting. Not sure why the story mode is so ridiculous hard comparing to this. The developer must be thinking hardcore gamers only. Besides this, I like the game character, she is beautiful and her fighting is awesome. Her voice is nice and nothing like Lara Croft (beside English accent) as some people commented.
In summary: If you a hardcore gamer, yes. Casual gamer, prepare for some frustration.

Some interesting game mechanics, a little story, and not horrible graphics. For the price and age of this game it's really a great buy, and there is a bit of replay value. Not the greatest, a bit annoying at times, but far from horrible.

This game was okay but not great. I still enjoyed it though and is worth a try if you like action and RPG games.

I like the game, it's fun as well as requires a fair amount of paying attention to solve certain things.

I played the demo for this game when it first came out. While I loved the graphics and concept of the game, it was a little hard for me to grasp the time control so I didn't want to blow $60 on a game that I may end up hating if I tried to play it completely. I found a good deal on here now that the prices have gone down and I'm still not an expert at the game I do like it more and for the price it is worth the play.

A few years ago I played the demo to X-Blades (the precursor to Blades of Time) and thought it was a nice looking game but it didn't seem to have much of a story (I still might go back and try the full game someday). I just picked up Blades of Time last week and am only about 5-6 hours into the game, but I must say, it has been really fun! The graphics are well done, the story is interesting enough. The gameplay is solid and there are tons of combos and upgrades as well as hidden chests with interesting items contained within. Overall, for the price, you will be hard pressed to be disappointed. Easily worth $40! Oh, and its already been pointed out by other reviewers, but as someone who can only play games with inverted controls, the demo does not support inverted controls, but the full game does (at least if you have your Xbox default setup that way).
