~This really is quite simply the best story I have come across in years. Mr Ley lifts the lid on the tricky world of timeshare sales in the major European hotspots, and does so with style. With all the partying he has done it is a wonder he found the time to chronicle it all , but he did. And magnificently so. It is impossible not to like him despite all the scams he has pulled. And with ape like gangsters, two timed women and one four foor six inch dwarf chasing after him, this blagger is~~ always on the move! Buy it! Read it! Love it!~

Ahilarious romp through the seedy business of timeshare sales in the European hotspots. Mr Ley lifts the lid on the scams involved and the characters who perpetrated them. You'll laugh and cry, but whether you approve or not it's impossible not to like this blagger!

Nice cage but no bird,

An amusing read about the misadventures of a Time Share OPC [ off premises contact ] mainly over in Tenefife, Spain. The main character from England tells about some of the different ways he talks vacationers into taking timeshare tours, and the compensation for each tour taken . It seems that they make good money and spend it fast as well with alot of partying. Partly and probably due to the high stress nature of the job. Not too much, however, on how timeshares work, who buys them, the role of sales, trading, the long term advantages etc.

What a fantastic read. I couldn't put it down and still remains the only book to be read in one day by myself. The story takes you on a rollercoaster ride of emotions and gives you insight into the life of a very brave and determined young man.I only hope there is more to come from Barry Ley.

Wow!I can't remember when I had this much fun reading. This hilarious and sometimes frightening tome kept me up all night and away from work. Mr Ley is living the life we all dream of in all the worlds holiday hotspots using only his wits as currency. He takes us with him as he relives his travels from the UK. You will laugh and cry as you delve into his loves, losses and howl with laughter as he reveals dodgey sales tactics. It is impossible not to like this mouthy Jack the lad and when you have finished reading prepare yourelf. You will undoubtably feel an irrational impulse to throw caution to the wind and follow in his footsteps. Buy it. Read it. Love it!!!

SUN FUN AND MONEY!!,
By Martin Parkes (Sheffield) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Blaggers: Adventures Inside the Sun-Kissed But Murky World of Holiday Timeshare (Paperback)
What a great story. Mr Ley is or was a timeshare tout and has spent the last decade or so scamming tourists in the worlds most popular holiday resorts. But for all that it is impossible not to like him. This book is an enthralling insite into what the timeshare touts get up to and is quite simply the most fun I have had with a book for a long time. Always in trouble rangeing from mild (jelous girlfriends) to serious (homicidal gangsters) Barry somehow manages to stay one step ahead, and do it with panache. Well written with a great sense of irony. Get this book. You will not be disappointed.

Short-story in large type; well-suited for the intellectually disinclined. It has some cute stuff but it is about what one might expect from a timeshare tout. Poorly written and considering the well-known honesty of those in timeshare sales, one has to suspect that very little of it is based in truth.
