This CD is a solid effort and worth every penny. The songs sound like Rob Zombie's , but that's not a bad thing. Every track on here is a winner and has a cool twisted feel to it. The cd even includes the new umixit technology that allows you to remix the song to your preference. Do your self a favor and buy this cd now. Can't wait to hear even more from Scum of the Earth.

So, what would I expect from a band with former zombie and powerman guys... less then what I got! This record brings high energy and great raw hooks. The beats are awesome. And there's something about 'Altargirl 13' that even has a super rock feel like AC/DC's "Whole lotta Rosie" or whatever that song was called. If you want to up your adrenaline level, and let your girlfriend get sexy at the same time... this cd rocks!!!

The Good
The heavy guitars and background effects on "I Am the Scum" come at you like a hungry pack of wolves. You'll notice that Riggs' vocals are similar To Rob Zombie's, but he does sound slightly different. The driving beat of "Bloodsuckingfreakshow" is enhanced by the moans of a satanic-loving devil woman. The guitar effects on "Get Your Dead On" have a funky seventies twang to them. Riggs' album up to this point treads the same ground that he did with Rob Zombie, but "Little Spider" sounds a lot different. The vocal tones are just as deep and creepy, but it's an acoustic heavy ballad (not exactly a lovey-dovey ballad).

"Murder Song" starts off with a classic horror movie clip and is followed by chunky driving riffs. "The Devil Made Me Do It" is loaded with effects, wailing guitars, and pounding drumbeats. Another ballad type song appears in "Give up Your Ghost". Instead of acoustic guitars Riggs and company utilize a sitar which gives the track a more haunting feel. This CD also has an enhanced media section. It's interesting to note it because it has a feature called `Umixit', in which you the listener can remix one of the tracks the way you want.

The Bad
"Pornstar Champion" is a horrible parody of Queen's "We Will Rock You". It even uses samples from the original, but that doesn't even save it. It's an insult to Queen.

The Verdict
I'll be the first to admit that Scum of the Earth sounds a lot like Rob Zombie, but what would you expect from his guitar player? If Rob isn't going to commit to another album you might as well have the next best thing. You won't be disappointed.

I wish the packaging on this cd could somehow represent exactly how alike and different this is from Rob Zombie. Riggs played guitar for Zombie for a lot of years, and I had heard this was like the next Zombie record. I would actually say this is more like a follow up to Hellbilly Deluxe. Rob Zombie has better techno-tinged re-mix stuff - but Scum of the Earth has better rock style songs. Scum guitars are way more featured than the Zombie guitars ever were. And it works. And some of the drum stuff on 'Blah...' is pretty epic. Even the ballad type songs have their moments- especially if you're feeling tired and creepy. The vocals have that Zombie (Ministry?) type effect sound, but the rhythms remind me more of Marilyn Manson. Another thing is that Scum of the Earth's words aren't usually just a bunch of creepy zombie references stuck together, but some of these are downright violent and to the point - check out Murder Song. All in all I'd say it's a great record. It has a lot of tunes that will definitely pump up your energy level. And if you like catchy beats, heavy guitar, and a little bit of evil thrown in, this is the best thing out there now.

And that's not a bad thing at all. This cd features former Rob Zombie guitarist Riggs and really doesn't stray too far from that of his time in the Zombie camp. It's probably not going to come as a suprise, but this pretty much sounds like 'the next' cd. The cd consist of very Zombie sounding tunes that will be welcome to many's ears. The cd seems to be very heavy on samples, especially in "Pornstarshampion" which samples Queen's "We will rock you". The cd doesn't seem to focus so much on monsters like zombie's cds seem to do lyric wise, but more towards the sleazy side of things, I mean, let's face it, Rob Zombie's Music is basically 'music made to strip to' and I think this cd acknowledges that and very much wants to be spun up in that rotation. I can even picture some Manson fans getting into this, either or. It's a fun cd for fun times, I'm giving it a 3.

Ok yes it sounds like another band but not Rob Zombie. I really Reminds me of White Zombie. Rob went all pop metal and ya got Spider's Powerman 5000 all punk like. This CD keeps the White Zombie legacy alive. I love every track. If u liked what White ZOmbie was doing before the break up you'll Friggen love this. It blows my mind thinking I was never gonna get the White Zombie feeling back... but I did. Right now this cd is like 7 + 2.50 S&H used, what thats a pack of Camels and and a beer this cd is worth alot more. I even has a remixer to change the beat. Keep the Zombie alive in you.

The cast from the Rob Zombie Band got tired of waiting, would you blame them? Riggs (gtr & vocals) decided he could do what his boss did, fun music infested with the zombie love...guess what? He nailed it, with the help of some friends ie. The Tempesta Brothers and John Dolmayan.

Blah...Blah...Blah...Love Songs for the New Millenium is packed with familiar sounds, sights and smells that rob zombie once offered before finding himself behind the lure of the big screen . The tracks are solid and dirty, " I am the scum" shows they are dead serious about wha they're doing and of course "Get your dead on" is spinning out of control in Fuse, Mtv and othe video channels, proving that there's still an audience wanting more fun, gore-filled industrial metal out there.

The "Riggs sound" that has been described as a "Zombie" sound could be heard over a decade ago by the same artist. In the smaller clubs in Austin, TX, and around the country, larger venues, such as Lala Paloosa, and in Ozzy's tours; Riggs's sound was clearly his own. I believe he "loaned" his unique sound to Rob Zombie and, I believe, he made a significant contribution to the Zombie album having such staying power and being such a success.

I heard Riggs and Clay when they played for lesser known bands, SCREW, PRONG, etc. It is clear in Riggs new work that his skill has grown and I am delighted to know that "getting older" as an artist does not mean having to "mature" to the point where an artist can't have fun with the material they choose to play or write.

The new Bla Bla Bla CD and video on Launch.com is an amazing start to what I hope to be a very long and successful career for SOTE with many more albums for us less articulate reviewers that have matured as well, but still know what we like when we hear it, and, we like to rock.

Great! Even though Riggs says it's not SPECIFICALLY influenced by Zombie, this is a natural progression from Sinister Urge. House of 1000 corpses doesn't really count, as it was a soundtrack with minimal (and experimental) new stuff. GET IT NOW! PLAY IT LOUD!

This album is so cool, it reminds me a lot of White Zombie in their prime (Astro-Creep 2000) and Powerman 5000 (Anyone For Doomsday, which was never released.) It even has a little Static-X vibe. I wish there were more bands out like this, it just pumps you full of adrenaline. Buy this album if you like the bands listed above. If you don't, buy it anyway, because I want these guys to get all of the support they need to make it, since Rob Zombie doesn't make any music anymore (tear.)
