5.0 out of 5 stars Tropical music at its best!
I have owned this cd since it came out, and I love it! Listening to this cd definitely makes you want to run off to the tropics.

Although I think this album will appeal to many, off the top of my head, the people who I think will most love this music are Jimmy Buffett fans. The songs have that tropical feel to them, complete with horns and steel drums...

1.0 out of 5 stars Dumbed down Jimmy Buffet...has every Keys cliche you can think of
this music is written on the level of a tourist brochure...every possible tropical cliche you can think of is recycled here...might be good background music sitting at a bar talking to people, but thats about it

5.0 out of 5 stars Tropical music at its best!, October 24, 2007

I have owned this cd since it came out, and I love it! Listening to this cd definitely makes you want to run off to the tropics.

Although I think this album will appeal to many, off the top of my head, the people who I think will most love this music are Jimmy Buffett fans. The songs have that tropical feel to them, complete with horns and steel drums.

Just a few comments about some of the stand-out songs on this cd: "Blame it on the Margaritas" is a great song about going to visit the islands and never returning to the mainland (something a lot of us have imagined, I'm sure!) "Local on the 8's" is about island living as well--the day's adventures depend on the weather forecast. "Dance the Night Away" has a fast beat that really makes you want to dance. "When I Think of You" is a sweet, slow love song. "Coconut Rum" what else can I say? It's a great song with a quick beat and catchy lyrics about coconut rum. "Boondocks" is a rockin' tune with lots of horn influence.

Bottom line: if you like tropical/steel-drum island music, buy this cd!

Another fun, good summertime music cd from Howard. As long as he keeps putting them out, I'll keep buying them. Help support the lesser known artists out there and give them a try. I promise if you're a parrothead, you'll like Howard!

Howard Livingston and Mile Marker 24 are undiscovered gold! Every one of his songs will find a way to touch you, amuse you, make you want to go back to the islands or give you a happy feeling. Their songs are real because they live the lifestyle they sing about. Great vocals, great instrumentals, great composition.

I have all 4 of his CD's and can't wait for the next!
