Book Description

November 6, 2008
Here is a highly personalized book, written as an exercise in what can be done using one thrifted wool blanket, a pair of scissors and a needle and thread. Written mostly for fun, the 40+ projects are sweet and simple, with some seasonal projects, that address all skill levels from child novice to expert. The book concept, design, illustrations, crafts, text, and photographs are all the work of the author and personify this book, as not only charming, but truly "homemade".

5.0 out of 5 stars Blanket Statement, November 14, 2008
This review is from: Blanket Statement: One Thrifted Wool Blanket Repurposed Into 40+ Projects (Paperback)
This book is full of sweet and easy projects for everyone in the family! From pincushions to slippers and lambs you will want to make them all! Vicki has written the book with the same sweet artistic spirit that makes her Blog so delightful to read!

I recommend this book to anyone who likes to sew and create vintage inspired projects and even though these all use a lovely vintage wool blanket they would transition well to any type of wool- especially recycled wool felted sweaters.

Great book, worth the price and will be a good reference for years to come.

Kudos to Vicki Haninger for all hard work and for fearlessly self publishing her work.

I will treasure mine!

A compilation of projects made from a single 60"x80" thrifted wool blanket it's hard not to be charmed by this book. Vicki's easy writing style and clear, well written and illustrated directions guarantee that any level of sewer will be able to successfully reproduce the projects with no trouble at all. Beautiful photographs make this book a delight to page through and you'll find it hard not to be inspired to pick up some wool fabric to work with on your next trip to the fabric or thrift shop.

I received this book yesterday and I love it! The projects are simple and sweet (but not too cutesy). Many of them are very quick and would make delightful gifts. The photos are very nice and the instructions clear. Patterns included. I can't wait to get started on making some of the items in this book. They are perfect for a cozy winter's night.
