I picked this up based on the Craig Thompson artwork. The package is a beautiful cd foldout cover and booklet (both handprinted), both featuring new artwork. The music contains a variety of music styles, including quiet ambient moments and is reminiscent of Ry Cooder in parts. "Everything is Beautiful" is the lovely closing song and the only vocal track. A great package and some lovely music. Recommended even if you haven't read the graphic novel.

I'm a big fan of graphic novels and I also really appreciate ambiant music, so this is a real winner for me. I think the music really reflects the theme of first love in wintertime. It sounds a little like Moby's "Ambiant" mixed with David Byrne's "Lead us not into temptation". The first track is my favorite, and sets the tone for the rest of the album (and the book, for that matter).

Since nobody has commented I must. I've had this album just over a month now and I gotta say I love it. I find it great for chillin after just waking up. The greatness I find is the vagueness mixed with creative nearer to songy fashion music. Things just flow in a very smooth fashion. Not to say there aren't suprising moments or there isn't any diversity on the contrary it's all of that and more. It all happens in way that just makes me feel like it was the natural way to go. Good stuff. I plan to check out some other projects by Tucker Martine in the near future.
