The first offering from what would turn out to be the most demented and technical Death Metal band to fry your hearing. Lord Worm is awesome on this. Flo is the man with 20 arms and 40 legs as usual. Every track on this is a journey into Cryptopsy's own world of musical mayhem. What I love most about this is the fact that you can almost feel that the next release after this one was going to be something from another world. And of course, None So Vile, possibly the best technical Death Metal release ever, came next and destroyed everyone in its path. If you're new to Cryptopsy why not start here at the beginning of one of the greatest bands ever. Play this all the way through, then slap on None So Vile right after it; it's amazing to hear it like that. Fans of ANY Death Metal: DO NOT MISS OUT ON THIS BAND!!!

Despite the bad production, this is a classic, and Cryptopsy's best imo. Personally I don't listen to the production; I listen to the music. This is Lord Worm's best performance in my opinion. Unlike on None So Vile, the sounds he makes are varied and interesting. Several songs have their own special vocal noises which are not repeated in other songs. I've never heard a more interesting, truly demonic sounding vocalist except perhaps Matti Way formerly of Disgorge. But Lord Worm is Lord of all Death Metal Vocals!

This is still as brutal as all hell, bad production or not. Lord Worm's lyrics are hilarious and scary at the same time. If you consider yourself a fan of this band, you must own this.
