Allison Maslan happens to be a homeopath, and that is how I happened upon her in the first place. I'm not one to use a "life coach" (in fact, I admit years ago I made fun of a friend of a friend when he said he was a life coach!). So imagine my surprise when Allison's book "Blast Off: The Surefire Success Plan to Launch Your Dreams into Reality" became my go-to book of 2009. There are some particular sections of her book that I must have read 5 times by now. She is a great writer, but it's her personal story interwoven with CONCRETE tactics that really kicked me in the butt. She's not a feel-good type of life coach -- she demands that you start your new life path by taking responsibility for your life. Then she lays out extremely approachable exercises that will get you where you want to go. Before I met Allison, and specifically before I read this book, I felt like my life was running me. The needs of my husband's career, my own career/boss, my children, my home, my finances always came before moi. Now, if something doesn't fall into my "Big Picture Vision" it simply doesn't make the to-do list. My body is stronger, my mind is less cluttered, and my conscience is clearer since making this book a central part of my life. And frankly, I'm accomplishing more -- financially, personally, and physically -- than I ever have in my life. I don't know where I'd be if I hadn't found this book when I did.

Over the past decade Allison has inspired me to embrace the life I always wanted: love, career, home and family are all abundant. And now, her book, Blast Off!, gives an in-depth, comprehensive guide to achieving all of your dreams. Her keen insights will open your heart, mind, body, and spirit. These days, the market is flooded with self-help books. Unfortunately, all too many of them leave me feeling dull and lifeless, and they don't really "help" very much. Half of the books I come across hit you over the head with "power talk" that makes you feel guilty for not being rich or for getting the occasional cold (I won't mention names, but I have indeed tossed more than one self-help book across the room because of this!). The other half usually drown you in lofty "woo woo" language that never quite gets down to practical action. Frustrating!

For a new self-help book to stand out from the crowd and become keeper in my library, it would need to be friendly, engaging, fun AND practical. In other words, it would actually have to HELP me help myself.

In her new book Blast Off! The Surefire Success Plan to Launch Your Dreams into Reality, author, coach and registered homeopath Allison Maslan, has achieved exactly that. Her book is a step-by-step programme to achieving some of the most challenging and important goals in life: career, relationship, health, fun/adventure, and of course financial security. In my experience as a coach, I know that when people wish to make positive changes in their lives in any of these areas, they can frequently feel overwhelmed. I know that there are two keys to helping them get started: 1) make the challenge feel light and fun and 2) break the challenge into smaller, and not so daunting, chunks. Maslan uses both of these strategies in her book Blast Off! Her creative and colourful use of language (Daily Launch Tools, Weekly Flight Assessments, etc) and her easy break-downs of tasks and targets (Sun-up Scripts, Mini-Feats, etc) give Blast Off! a quality of lightness that helps readers believe they can and will achieve their goals and aspirations. But most importantly, Maslan keeps the reader focussed on the bigger picture: life purpose and the path of your whole life. Thus, unlike other books that might just focus on one aspect of life, like money, relationships or health, Blast Off! is a holistic handbook for creating the life you want to live.

Written with a charm that immediately makes you feel at home, Maslan avoids the downfalls of so many other self-help authors (no condescending "power talk", no airy-fairy stuff). With Blast Off!, Allison Maslan has written an accessible, inviting and honest handbook, with a sweet, down-to-earth charm and practical action steps. The combination results in something that is both believable and useful. In other words, this is one self-help book that actually IS showing you how to help yourself. Blast Off!, along with the accompanying Workbook, is kind of like having a life coach in a book. Certainly worth checking out to enhance your New Year's resolutions in 2010.

I love this book! Blast Off is even better than I had hoped. I have seen Allison Maslan
speak and she is so uplifting and empowering. Her book does the same and to my surprise,
offers a complete system of creating wealth and fulfillment in every aspect of life.
The difference between Allison's book and the other books on manifesting your reality is that
Blast Off gives you a step by step daily plan for every area of life, which is so easy to follow. Allison
moves you past your excuses, and your fears and into action. You literally want to get up and start achieving your goals.
She inspires you with her wisdom and opens the door to so many possibilities. Then she tells you how to make it happen with
simple daily action steps and launching tools. I was so stuck in my career and now, after reading this book, I really feel equipped
equipped to make the changes.

If you are ready to find your passion and develop your own dream business, this book takes you
through the process from A to Z. It even tells you how to take care of yourself personally through the process. She even
has a chapter on manifesting your soulmate. Apparently used this process to finally meet the one.
I also loved hearing about her rags to riches story. The book is genuine and heartwarming, and often very funny. It gives me hope to know that
Allison created her success even though she had no money and lots of opposition. She went on to become an entrepreneur as she built 8 businesses while raising her daughter
as a single mom.In Blast Off she gives us her unique formula that brought her to the top and guides us through the
process she uses to help so many others do the same.
Blast Off is a cross between The Artist Way, E-Myth and The Secret.
It literally teaches you how to find your passion and soul's purpose (Artist Way), manifest love and success,(The Secret) with
a practical nuts and bolts twist on making it work in your personal and professional life today. (E-myth Revisited)

I am not sure if she is selling the Blast Off Workbook on Amazon, but if she is, buy it.
This way you have the space to brainstorm with her program and create your new pathways to the stars!

I was pleasantly surprised at how well-written and cohesive this book is even though it focuses on all areas of life .Blast Off will be life altering for anybody seeking to create a more fulfilling personal and professional life. Even those readers that know they want more, but have no idea what that could be. The author cleverly weaves her inspirational story and other examples of creating one's dream life, while she teaches her tried and true formula for success. This book left me with many great tools I will use in my business right away, while adding more fun and adventure in my life as a whole. I cannot say enough great things about it.

As a solo entrepreneur, I need to remain highly motivated and focused, and always to think strategically. Balancing work with leisure is one of my daily challenges, but it's one I am learning to take care of with the help of this book. Blast Off! has become a source of inspiration for me--and I have been able to take Allison Maslan's advice and run with it. I love the way she has readers break our big picture vision into mile steps and into mini steps. I love that she has readers look at our lives in 360-degree focus. She's a homeopath, so she entirely "gets" how we are individuals--and need to lead lives that suit us as we really are. I also related to her honest depiction of times in her life where things weren't perfect (how do you drive over yourself with your own car anyway?) and yet she launched from these lessons into considerable success helping others learn, grow, and lead. It's exciting! I am glad I read it.

As a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I know the importance of harnessing your thoughts to improve your feelings, thus behavior. Allison has a way of talking about this process in a way that is easy to grasp and put into practice. Allison's book "Blast Off" is conversational, practical and motivational. She takes her reader from self-doubting to self-empowering through clear writing, wonderful vignettes (examples) and her own story. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to find their passion, pursue it and claim it.

This book is fantastic at explaining how to unlock your creativity and seeing how your own thinking can get in the way of your dreams. It is a powerful yet easy to read book that can take you through the steps to making your dreams a reality! I think it is fantastic and can be a fabulous tool for anyone who wants to move forward in a powerful way in their lives.

I had the pleasure of recording the audio version of BlastOff! so I am very familiar with the material. This is a realistic, practical, and in-depth program you can follow to change or enhance any area of your life.

Each chapter is easy to read and has a step-by step process you can implement. Allison wrote engaging stories and gives examples of how others applied her processes to create the life they dreamed of living. You will be inspired and motivated throughout each chapter and given a renewed sense of hope that you can create what you want in your life.

I recommend the audio (of course!) and also the workbook.
