5.0 out of 5 stars Fun Blast of a Heat Wave, April 7, 2004
By
This review is from: Full Blast (Mass Market Paperback)
This is the fourth book in the FULL series, and like the Stephanie Plum series, you do not need to read the others to enjoy it. Start here (it is the best of the series yet) and then if it suits you, go back and read the other books, starting with Full House.

This book takes place in the south, and combines a sexy humor with a mystery about who is killing the local citizens of Beaumont. It includes Millionaire boy genious Max Holt and Jamey Swift, owner of the local newspaper, as they deal with the sultry weather, and the sizzling effect it is having on all the zany citizens. Dee Dee Fontana, an aging Beauty Queen is having a baby, and Vera the spinster mother-figure starts letting her hair down. A sexy psychic with her red neck ghost adds to the mix, as do a paper full of possible suspects. You will never guess who done it, but this is mostly about fun and sex, and not a heavy duty mystery.

Janet Evanovich and Charlotte Hughes have teamed up on this series and with Full Blast, it is evident that this is a team to be watched! I am looking forward to the continued evolution of this series.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun but not the best by Evanovich, June 28, 2004
This review is from: Full Blast (Mass Market Paperback)
Jamie Swift is a small town newspaper editor, also known as Swifty by multi-millionaire Mac Holt, who is a silent partner in the paper. Jamie has started a new personals section in the newspaper. But, when a local lingerie shop owner is killed after having a grand opening, and one of her personals is found circled in her office things become tense for Jamie and she calls Max for help. (This is the 3rd book the 2 have teamed up in). There are more killings that also seem to link back to the personals section. Max and Jamie go undercover along with a "clairvoyant" named Destiny to see if they can ferret out who the killer is. So Jamie and Destiny date the different men, compare notes with Max and his computer "muffin" at the same time as Max and Jamie continue to fight their desires for each other. At one point Jamie who has frequented the new lingerie shop is very "tipsy" and decided to show Max, at his B&B room, her new lingerie and at the same time that she does the door opens to the owner of the B&B, making Jamie the talk of the town.

This is not up to the caliber that one would expect if they are Stephanie Plum fans but if you are looking for a VERY light read with some humor this one is for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Full Blast: Hot Heat Wave, April 7, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Full Blast (Mass Market Paperback)
Steamy! The heat is rising in this fourth book of the Full series, and everybody is cutting loose. I won't give away what happens with Jamie and Max, but in the process of solving a couple of murders, the whole town gets stimulated! Even Vera gets a convertable and lets her hair down. This is the most fun (...) book in the Full Series. Janet Evanovich and Charlotte Hughes have realy hit their stride.
