5.0 out of 5 stars Fun Blast of a Heat Wave
This is the fourth book in the FULL series, and like the Stephanie Plum series, you do not need to read the others to enjoy it. Start here (it is the best of the series yet) and then if it suits you, go back and read the other books, starting with Full House.

2.0 out of 5 stars Jamie is no Plum!
Janet Evanovich has spoiled her readers with her Stephanie Plum Series in which the madcap bounty hunter never fails to amuse, amaze and entertain the reader. This series seems pale by comparison, starting with the tepid heroine, Jamie Swift, and her too-rich-to-be believable boyfriend, Max Holt. In this 4th. book of the series, Jamie's newspaper has just begun a...

This is the fourth book in the FULL series, and like the Stephanie Plum series, you do not need to read the others to enjoy it. Start here (it is the best of the series yet) and then if it suits you, go back and read the other books, starting with Full House.

This book takes place in the south, and combines a sexy humor with a mystery about who is killing the local citizens of Beaumont. It includes Millionaire boy genious Max Holt and Jamey Swift, owner of the local newspaper, as they deal with the sultry weather, and the sizzling effect it is having on all the zany citizens. Dee Dee Fontana, an aging Beauty Queen is having a baby, and Vera the spinster mother-figure starts letting her hair down. A sexy psychic with her red neck ghost adds to the mix, as do a paper full of possible suspects. You will never guess who done it, but this is mostly about fun and sex, and not a heavy duty mystery.

Janet Evanovich and Charlotte Hughes have teamed up on this series and with Full Blast, it is evident that this is a team to be watched! I am looking forward to the continued evolution of this series.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun but not the best by Evanovich, June 28, 2004
This review is from: Full Blast (Mass Market Paperback)
Jamie Swift is a small town newspaper editor, also known as Swifty by multi-millionaire Mac Holt, who is a silent partner in the paper. Jamie has started a new personals section in the newspaper. But, when a local lingerie shop owner is killed after having a grand opening, and one of her personals is found circled in her office things become tense for Jamie and she calls Max for help. (This is the 3rd book the 2 have teamed up in). There are more killings that also seem to link back to the personals section. Max and Jamie go undercover along with a "clairvoyant" named Destiny to see if they can ferret out who the killer is. So Jamie and Destiny date the different men, compare notes with Max and his computer "muffin" at the same time as Max and Jamie continue to fight their desires for each other. At one point Jamie who has frequented the new lingerie shop is very "tipsy" and decided to show Max, at his B&B room, her new lingerie and at the same time that she does the door opens to the owner of the B&B, making Jamie the talk of the town.

This is not up to the caliber that one would expect if they are Stephanie Plum fans but if you are looking for a VERY light read with some humor this one is for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Full Blast: Hot Heat Wave, April 7, 2004

Steamy! The heat is rising in this fourth book of the Full series, and everybody is cutting loose. I won't give away what happens with Jamie and Max, but in the process of solving a couple of murders, the whole town gets stimulated! Even Vera gets a convertable and lets her hair down. This is the most fun (...) book in the Full Series. Janet Evanovich and Charlotte Hughes have realy hit their stride.

4.0 out of 5 stars Turn up the heat & slip into something comfortable..., May 22, 2004
This review is from: Full Blast (Mass Market Paperback)
This description caught my eye yesterday while I was browsing for something to read while enjoying the day at the swimming pool. I could NOT put this book down until it was finished last night.

All the characters in Full Blast are FUN! Destiny Moultrie blows into this small South Carolina town and you can bet that things will never be the same again. See...she's a psychic, who is followed by Ronnie, a spirit trapped between worlds. Eyebrows are raised when Destiny carries on conversations with Ronnie and will have you laughing. Everyone is skeptical at first when she tells of "visions" that women will die, but her visions come to life and it's up to Destiny, Jamie and Max to find the killer before he strikes again.

Full Blast is a perfect combination of comedy, mystery and steam! Once you start reading, you won't be able to stop.

4.0 out of 5 stars One of the best in the Full series, March 12, 2005

I really liked Full Tilt. It was a fun, relaxing read. But I was disappointed by Full Speed. Full Blast is great. The plot includes all the town characters that I liked from Full Tilt. But the best part is that the characters change - including the relationship between Jamie and Max. That is a too rare occurrence in most book series - including the Plum books which sometimes seem to be the same basic template with the name of the guy she is involved with changed. If you have ever enjoyed any of the books in this series, I highly recommend this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars A refreshing change from the Plum series, give it a shot!, August 19, 2005

This review is from: Full Blast (Mass Market Paperback)
My first Evanovich book was from the "Full Series". And I must say, they all have intrigued me and honestly are'nt the "Plum" stories getting a little played out. This book was refreshing and fast paced. It was nice to read something other than a "bounty hunter" novel. And don't get me wrong, I own all her books. The "Full" series are fun and march to different drummer than her other series. Jamie and Max may not be a Stephanie and Ranger/Morelli, but they know how to heat up a story too. And these novels have some very humorous folks in them as well. Maybe you just have to read all five to get the point. Sometimes this is a way an author shows diversity. Grab one and enjoy! Hey grab them all!

EVERYBODY is featured to full potential in this 4th of the series. Max and Jamie are as cautiously steamy as ever. Poor Muffin suffers symptoms of pregnancy, and Vera gets a lot more action and feature time than in previous episodes. It's a wonderful series. Finally saw Janet E. on TV last night with an ad for her new Stephanie Plum novel. Both series are great entertainment.

One big element in the enjoyment of these audio books is reader Lorelei King. She is the most expressive and comical reader I've ever heard and I've listened to MANY. Her vocal range between Jaime, Max, Vera, DeeDee and her oh-so-faithful Beenee (sp?)are astounding. All characters have a particular vocal distinction of their own.

I commute an hour each way to work and I can't find a better way to spend the time than with ANY Janet Evanovich or Charlotte Hughes book on CD. Passes the time so quickly. Can't wait to get back in the car and continue!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars All I can say is WOW!!!, November 29, 2004
This review is from: Full Blast (Mass Market Paperback)
I have loved the full series and for me this had to be the best one of them all. I love that Evanovich and Hughes didn't trump the sexual tension card to the hilt, in this book Jamie and Max took their relationship to next level, and even professed their feelings for one another, YESSSSSS. I also must commend the authors for the mystery element, I never would of figured out who the true culprit was, bravo. The only problem I have now is that I have to wait till April for the next installment of this series Full Bloom. Can't wait to see what happens next.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun read, April 27, 2004
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Full Blast (Mass Market Paperback)
I don't know why people can't seem to separate Janet Evanovich from the Stephanie Plum series. Full Blast is not the same, but it still is a fun book with a hilarious scene with a deranged poodle. Recommended to those who want a lighthearted, fun book to read by the pool.

5.0 out of 5 stars A very funny book, July 1, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Full Blast (Mass Market Paperback)
I picked up this book before I had read any other by the author, or in the series, and laughed my way through it. I LOVE the quirks of the charactors and Muffin is great! I went out and bought the other 3 books and devoured them in 2 days and have re-read all 4 books. They are very light reading, but enjoyable. A great summertime/beach book when you want to laugh.
