I bought this because back when I was eight, twenty three years ago I read this book from cover to cover and I bought this book and did the same thing again. Glad I found it.

My answer is "yes". Why? Because the cover is cool.

Despite that ringing endorsement, I don't recommend reading any of the Worlds of Power books. For nostalgia, I recommend simply playing the games. But if you had to read one, for some reason, this would be the one to read. As a third grader, I found it touching, in places. As a nineteenth grader (third year of grad. school?), I can't think of a single reason to read it again. But, a penny is a penny, and those stocking do need stuffing...

I liked the idea, but they've cut a lot of corners. They've started off well with the first part of the story, and level one, then they've skipped a lot of levels. The book was quite small. Events and characters were placed in the wrong levels. This book needs to be redone, there could have been more of a storyline within the rest of the levels and end bosses. Some of it just wasn't very realistic, running into power ups is great for video games, but not for books.

These books take me back to when I was 12 and a NES freak. Short but sized books that are still enjoyable reads and add color and story to these classic 8 bit era games.
