I read these books as a little kid... The illustrations are incredibly beautiful and lifelike, and the stories are equally enjoyable. Billy and Blaze's adventures would capture the heart and mind of any child -- or even adult! - with their emotional strength and superb literary quality. I can't recommend these books highly enough... every one of them.

I grew up reading the entire series of the Blaze books by C.W. Anderson and they have become favorites of my children. Billy loves his pony, and his pony loves him. There is a mutual respect that only love can inspire. Apart from the story, Anderson is a consumate illustrator.

All of the Billy & Blaze stories were among my favorites as a child; I'm so glad they are available again. The illustrations alone make these stories classic children's literature!

This is a great book for young readers, especially those who love horses. This is a refreshing story about a boy named Billy and his pony named Blaze.The two have a very special bond and care very much for each other.One day they go for an outing and events happen which put them in danger. Readers are kept in suspense as Blaze and Billy struggle to get home. I would recommend this book to all young readers.

for fun and adventure.

The Billy and Blaze series is great fun. Young boys, even those not interested in horses, will love these books. My 7yo has never had an interest in horses (he thinks they smell bad) but he hangs on to every word of these adventurous stories.

Billy and Blaze books are a wonderful series about a boy and his horse and the adventures they find while out riding. I think any child could appreciate these gentle stories. They are a nice break from the commercialized books usually marketed to boys that are based on cartoons and toys and movies.

Timeless Classic. There is just something about the Blaze books you feel like your in the story even though they are so simple that they are good for first and second graders anyone who is a horse lover can enjoy them. Good for both boys and girls. They stimulate your imagination too. What would you do when faced with the same situation. I loved hearing my child read these to me a great bonding time.

Blaze Finds the Trail (Billy and Blaze Books)

My 4 year old boy and I really enjoy the adventures had by this boy and his horse. The old fashioned black and white or sepia drawings are well done and fit the "old west" theme. Some stories have a slight hint at danger, but everything works out. There is a forest fire, a mountain lion, a wild horse. Billy is a problem solver. So far we have read 6 books in this series they are all very good. We recommend them.

I bought several titles in this series for a 7-year old reluctant reader in my class. He loved reading them, as have many other children.

Purchased because my 4 1/2 year old grandsons (twins) enjoyed this book very much when we had borrowed the book from the library.
