Editorial Reviews

Over the last decade, The BOILS have gone from the ranks of a virtually unknown local band in the Philadelphia scene to one of that area's premier Punk Rock bands. Whether they’re taking their Street Punk / Hardcore assault to a festival sized audience, or to the local basement or VFW hall, The Boils have proven time and time again to be relentless and dedicated to their cause. From The Bleachers proves to be the most brutally honest and refreshingly inspired work the BOILS have yet executed. While drawing from a wide range of influences, the BOILS draw them all together into one, eclectic rallying cry of punk rock. Street Punk anthems, reggae infused boot-stompers, and a battery of hardcore come together, propelling the Boils into a new class and higher caliber than ever before, while still staying true to the essence of their sound.

3.0 out of 5 stars This is the boils?, November 28, 2005
This review is from: From the Bleachers (Audio CD)
Don't get me wrong, I love the Boils. They happen to be one of my most favorite punk bands and I have been following them for close to a decade. I used to go to all their shows at the hole in walls in West Chester, Kennett, Delaware, etc. back in the day. "From the Bleachers" strays far far away from the band's original "World Poison", "When the Sun Goes Down" sound. Many of the songs on this album sound almost the same. I guess a different sound is supposed to be expected with bascially a whole new band. I am pretty sure Greg is the only original member left. If you are looking to buy a boils album I would definitely say get "World Poison" and "When the Sun Goes Down" EP first. This is definitely not the best of the boils.
