This threat is f*****g real indeed!,
By nvcameron (Chicago, illinois USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Bleed the Fifth (Audio CD)
Fear Factory fans rejoice, Dino Cazares is back with a vengence. "Bleed the Fifth" sounds like the follow-up to "Digimortal" but with less synths & 100x more aggressive. No need for imitation this is the real deal. Fast, brutal, melodic, stunning. Dino has put together a killer group:Tim Yeungs drumming is simply insane & Tommy Vext voice is in fantastic form. Dino even throws in a little guitar solo. Heres one of the best metal albums of 2007. My only complaint is that I wish it was about a song or two longer but there is a bonus song "Purity Defiled" on the Japanese import which im going to hunt down. Overall: The best album Fear Factory never made. Superb!

Dino's best work yet....and the drumming is unreal,
This review is from: Bleed the Fifth (Audio CD)
I'll keep this short: Buy this CD. The drumming and riffing are incredible, Dino's and Tim's finest hour. THis is going to be a great month with the new Skinlab live CD coming out on 4/29 and this release. I just hope my speakers can keep up.

punishing and relentless return of Cazares,
By Scott Hedegard "Scott" (Fayetteville, AR USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Bleed the Fifth (Audio CD)
Dino Cazares was unceremoniously dumped from Fear Factory a few years back, and except for a few side projects we didn't hear from FF's guitar machine that sculpted and defined the industrial metal his band became famous for. Fear Factory's two post-Cazares' efforts, "Archtype" and "Transgression" are still worthy CD's, but Dino's brutal rhythm attack is missed.
Not so on Divine Heresy's "Bleed The Fifth", one of the most punishing, brutal and unrelentless metal slabs to rip apart stereo speakers in quite some time. So unforgiving is this disc a bit of a breather could have been welcome to add a tad of atmosphere to the mix. That's a minor point though. Divine Heresy have announced to the metal world they will not take prisoners nor will they show mercy for any contemporaries, including Fear Factory. Additionally, we get to hear some lead work from Dino, who eschewed solos in FF for the overall song. He proves to be a fiery lead guitarist and deserves more solo time. Consider this to be the shot across the bow - the competition better get to Gold's Gym, especially drummers, and work out, because this is metal on a super-human scale.
