Book Description

FBI profiler Trisha McCleery has been on a twenty-year personal search for the person who brutally murdered her mother. At the same time serial killer Gene Lassiter has been on an obsessive twenty-year search for the daughter of his first kill, Trisha's mother. He desperately wants to slay her the way he's taken so many others, by bleeding her to death. Now living in Manhattan, successfully running his own wealth management firm, Lassiter finally sees his opportunity to have Trisha. She's been assigned to help the NYPD apprehend a killer the press has dubbed "Drac" because he targets wealthy middle-aged women and bleeds them to death. Trisha senses that Drac is the man who killed her mother but doesn’t suspect Lassiter, a charming and available New York bachelor. Her rich father thinks the world of him, and her sister tries to set her up with him, and she actually says yes when he asks her on a date. But will she figure out he's the one before he kills her?

In the tradition of The Silence of the Lambs, BLEEDERS is the latest thriller from the author of Se7en and The Iceman.

3.0 out of 5 stars Typical for the genre July 26, 2011
By DMZ
Format:Kindle Edition
I received a copy of this book in exchange for a review. I found it typical for the genre. The writing was solid and well paced, the characters were fairly interesting but once again nothing special. Lassiter is your basic ego-maniacal serial killer and Trisha your basic female FBI agent. I did find that the behind the scenes political nonsense between the local law enforcement and the FBI seemed to be very realistic. If you are looking for something to kill some time while on vacation this summer this book would fit the bill, however I did not find it to be something that I would re-read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally, a heroine I can pull for August 14, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
Trisha is the kind of heroine I wish there were more of. She's smart, brave, but also smart enough to know when to be afraid as well. She stands up for herself without turning into one of those "fiesty" heroines that are all over the place. She's definitely easy to root for.

Overall, the book is good. It's very creepy, but it retains its believability. Gene is almost likeable at times, even though it's clear who and what he is.

Some of the minor characters are a bit stereotypical, but it's nothing that affected my overall enjoyment of the book. Highly recommended.

Note: I received a complimentary copy of this book in order to review it.
