5.0 out of 5 stars Intense music and lyrics
Any kid from the suburbs will be able to relate to this music. These guys are straight out of the sprawling insanity which is Long Island. My good friends in high school turned me on to this group. And although I'm not a fan of most loud or heavy metal stuff, this band is really good. People complain that they've sold out since signing with Roadrunner. I'll admit that...

2.0 out of 5 stars Yeah Sure.........
This CD is pretty much a joke.....They took great songs and tried to redo them and made them sound awful....Check out "still" if you want to hear what this once great band was about...or search on soulseek for the demos of the other songs they redid..don't support this band and thier money grubbing efforts....

I'll admit that their new songs sound overly produced. But VOD still has a few gem albums that are worth checking out. "You taught me your way to ascend. Now I'm choking on the apathy.....My mind, a purity within itself." This is an example of the angst and emotion involved in the lyrics on this album. Peace.

5.0 out of 5 stars F'n Amazing, April 5, 2002

For the Bleeders is VOD's best cd to date and will kick you in the f'n face from start to finish. I've yet to hear a better hardcore album. This cd has it all, Tim's vocals are just flat out crazy and the drumming and guitar work is great. The new versions of the songs from the "Still" EP are excellent, I especially like the new version of "Choke". Anyone looking to get into VOD should buy For the Bleeders first.

5.0 out of 5 stars I agree that this VOD's best CD, June 19, 2000
This review is from: For Bleeders (Audio CD)
This CD is a gem if you like hardcore. The songs are complex enough that you have to listen to them several times before you understand everything that is going on, but after that - wow! Each song has something different to offer, unlike many heavy bands. The drumming is top-notch and it is just a great CD overall.

(REAL NAME)
This review is from: For Bleeders (Audio CD)
It all comes down to remembering your roots. It is all about understanding how you got to where you are. For a band, the be all, end all, is the fans. Those kids that will follow you to the ends of the Earth and beyond. Believe in you die-hard, to-the-end, no matter where you go or what you do. Hence this tribute to their devotes from Long Island hardcore heros, Vision of Disorder. The gritty ten song offering is a retrospective of their pre-Roadrunner records era, showcasing in the modern V.O.D. style on the older material, circa the "Still" era. The updated versions take on a new life, merging fan favorites from their demo days with the more metallic vibe of the recent offerings. "...Bleeders" is significantly less produced than it's Roadrunner predessors as hardcore mainstay Tim Gilles mans the knobs. The use of a less polished recording technique allows for the aggression and intensity of V.O.D. to shine forth with shades of thier signature live shows rather than capture a studio atmosphere. Couple the thrashy, grappling rhythm guitar pairing with the bottom end onslaught and rhythmic hardcore breakdowns are part of what make V.O.D. a perfect metalcore crossover. The chugging guitar driven grooves are then trudged upon by the schitzophrenic vocal onslaught of vocalist Tim Williams. Gritty screams are often offset by emo-esque cries inducing a range of emotions while never catering to anything less than shear energy and forward moving aggression Pure fist-in-the-air, feet-in-the-pit metalcore are what V.O.D. have become and "...Bleeders" ensures that the only visions you will have once experiencing it are real-world inspired nightmares. Whether you recently discovered them, or have been bleeding all along, "FTB" is sure to satisify. It is time to come to terms with the vision that has been eluding the metal and hardcore scene, the vision of the future with it is roots in the past, the Vision of Disorder. So open

your eyes wide and be prepared to bleed with V.O.D. this time around, because there is "No Regret."

5.0 out of 5 stars THis is VOD's best, November 9, 1999
By
This review is from: For Bleeders (Audio CD)
Man, VOD should of released this stuff a lot earlier. Ive heard some of the songs on their old EP called STILL. However, the songs that are on STILL that were remade on FTB, are so much better. SOngs like CHOKE, TAKE THEM OUT, WATCH OUT, AND BENEATH THE GREEN are awesome tracks. However i must say that the new tracks are unbelievable, especially "IN THE ROOM". The new tracks sort of take off where the first VOD left off. THis is the best VOD stuff, i highly suggest you buy this cd, hardocre/metal at it's best.

5.0 out of 5 stars V.O.D. at their prime, April 6, 2003

Absolutly astounding! Vision of Disorder's 1999 album 'For the Bleeders' is the straight up best hardcore album out there today. I've been a Vision of Disorder fan for quite some time now, and I have collected all their albums. I have to admit though, every morning I find myself comming back to 'For the Bleeders' because of its intestly hard vocals/drums/ and guitars. This album is Tim Williams in his prime. I recommend this album to anyone who is ready for something harder than metal music. This album is an example of 100% straight up hardcore music. Enjoy!

5.0 out of 5 stars VOD was not an "Alternative Metal" band..., July 28, 2009
This review is from: For Bleeders (Audio CD)
...They were a hardcore band. One of the best hardcore bands of all time. This is indeed a re-recording of their demo tracks, and tracks from the Still EP... which were released... It is called For The Bleeders because after the band signed to Roadrunner, they were reluctant to play some of these older tracks live anymore... to the dismay of all the fans who were there since the beginning. So, they released this album to appease the massive fanbase who put them to the top. If you're new to VOD, I highly recommend listening to the Still EP first.

I just recently discovered Vision of Disorder, and I can honesty say their one of my favorite metals bands alive, and anyone who likes there music very hyper needs to look into them as soon as possible. Responsible listining however or your ears will bleed. For the Bleeders is my favorite VOD albem to date. Also pick up Imprint, From Bliss to Devastaion, and the self titled CD, but if you have For the Bleeders then the six track Still EP is not necessary.
