5.0 out of 5 stars Buy this album, December 27, 2001

I dont normally take the time to rate an album, but this is one of those rare exceptions. I think that the other reviews pretty well sum up what I believe to be one of the most original, haunting, beautiful masterpieces of all time. If you like intelligent, original, melancholly music, you cannot pass up this album.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of my favorite albums of all time, May 10, 2000

What can I say? Beseech has come through with one of the most emotional gothic doom albums I've ever heard. The lyrics are usually always depressing in a dark, poetic way. The variety of instruments they play adds so much beauty it is unbelievable. From the angelic female vocals on tracks like "Shadowscape", to the beautiful flute passages on "Rainbowman"(the only track that reveals a glimmer of hope for life), to cello, violin, piano, and skilled guitar playing that is used frequently throughout the album. It is a shame that this is only the third review of this amazing album when garbage like the Backstreet Boys has well over a thousand of one of their pathetic albums. The only complaint I can find about this album is the ten tracks only equal a little over 40 minutes, which isn't that short but for an album of this nature I would love it to be much longer! Still a very minor complaint. This album is up there with some of My Dying Bride's earlier albums as some of the best goth/doom metal out there. I Can't wait for their new album "Black Emotions" to come out! It is going to be extremely difficult for them to follow "...From A Bleeding Heart" but I believe they can do it!

5.0 out of 5 stars An Amazing Sound From an Amazing Band, June 25, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: From a Bleeding Heart (Audio CD)
I thought the Beseech album "From A Bleeding Heart..." was simply one of the best gothic CDs I have ever heard. Beseech radiates with a unique and non-typical sound that encompasses nearly every human emotion possible. I am extremely enthusiastic about any future releases from the band.

4.0 out of 5 stars great gothic-doom debut, July 3, 1998
This review is from: From a Bleeding Heart (Audio CD)
If you are a fan of My Dying Bride you should check out this album. Wonderful string and woodwind compliment some classic and electric guitar work. Songs are well-written romantic doom and gloom - truly sad. The lead male singer has a unique voice which at times is gruff, but he can also sing clean and often does. The female singer is very good, sexy sounding in fact. (Although I'm not a big fan of Theater of Tragedy, Beseech uses similar male/female singing leads.)All in all an interesting, hypnotic, and well produced debut!

This album is worth a listen but their later albums are even better.
This band is gothic and experimental with great musicianship and composition. You have to listen awhile to get into them but when you
do you see how much depth they have. Other bands do goth metal but
this bands sound evokes real emotion.
