I make smoothies almost every day for myself and my two kids. I was tired of filling up multiple glasses, so I bought this pitcher despite the bad reviews. Big mistake! I've had this thing for a couple of months now, and like another reviewer notes, despite how tight you put the blade on, it leaks. As soon as you put the pitcher on the bullet base, the force of the blending actually unscrews the bottom and you are left with a giant mess. On top of that, today when the bottom unscrewed (as usual), the plastic on the bottom of my blades was eaten up in the fray. So now, I'm back on amazon hunting for replacement blades and I couldn't help stopping by to mention what a TERRIBLE product this is. I'm not a product engineer, but my guess is that the magic bullet wasn't designed to handle the shape/size of this pitcher, or maybe not even the amount of product you can put into the pitcher itself. The description says that this thing is perfect for pancake batter or smoothies--maybe pancake batter because it is mainly dry ingredients and water, but definitely NOT for smoothies (or at least my smoothies, which have frozen fruit and ice in them). The replacement blade is going to cost me about $15 with s/h, but I'm just happy that this thing didn't kill my bullet as well with the numerous smoothie floods. I will not be using this pitcher to make smoothies again!

This item is exactly what I expected and needed for my smoothies; just the right size. The cover is not like a regular blender cover, you must turn it to tighten/loosen it. To clean, I like to hand-wash with liquid soap; fill container 1/2 way with hot water, then blend. This cleans the pitcher as well as the blades. Love it!

I have read all the complaints about the party mugs and the base. I found out that if the gasket is not put on correctly it will leak. When you look at the gasket, there is the smooth side and the side with the groove. The smooth side goes down and the side with the groove should be facing up. As far as the cups or mugs are concerned, when one of the prongs are broken the base (motor)normaly will not turn. If the three levers that the prongs sit on are gunky you will not be able to start the processing. They must be kept clean. Always unplug to clean them. It has occasionally happened to me and this is how I remedied the problems

The idea of having a larger blender is great, but it's ability to blend my shakes wasn't great and it really struggled once filled with fruit & powder.

I was excited to get the blender then disappointed to find out that it leaks around the base no matter what you do. Changing out the seal, tightening the base, holding it while it blends....none of those stop the leaking!

The top does not seal which causes it to easily overflow. The top does lock into place but only to expose pour mouths.

The way these pitchers work is that three little plastic protrusions near the base engage some switches on the motor unit.
Unfortunately these little plastic tabs can break off quite easily. You only need 1 to engage the motor, but over the few years we had our original pitcher one by one all three tabs broke off leaving us with a useless hunk of plastic.

So while this replacement works perfectly for the original pitcher (five stars for that) it still has this very fragile design that relies on tiny plastic tabs to engage the motor switch. I'm pretty sure they will eventually get broken off this pitcher too. I think when that happens again I'll just bite the bullet, so to speak, and get a BlendTec blender.

Since I already had the "Magic Bullet", I wanted a bigger blender to add more veggies in my daily smoothies....and this pitcher is the perfect product!
I was very tempted to spend $400 on a Blentec bender for my smoothies, but decided to do some research prior and found this. I couldn't cut up more bulker veggies to put into the regular blending cup. The pitcher is the perfect size (not too big/not too small). I live in a apartment where cabinet room is limited. I recommend this pitcher!!
