Debi Irene Wahl, in her book The Blendings, has created a real page-turner. I appreciate Debi's Christian values coming through in such a mystery thriller. If you have ever had any dealings with a cult or have had experience with a family member or friend's involvement, you will know how true to fact many of the happenings in this book could be. This novel shares the lives of those in a quiet little town of Claysville, Pennsylvania as they welcome in a huge corporation (Cartel? Cult?) and then mysterious things begin to happen. No one is safe from this group - absolutely no one. I appreciated Debi Wahl's writing strategy of showing some events from more than one point of view. It was a very interesting way to share the story. If you appreciate suspense, you will enjoy The Blendings.

The people of Claysville, Pennsylvania, are a particularly welcoming bunch; so, it comes as no surprise when they open their arms wide to greet their newest neighbors: the members of the powerful corporation Eternal Witness, led by the charismatic Mr. S-hung. Little do the local townsfolk know, though, they've invited a sinister, deadly darkness into their midst, one that soon begins manipulating the hearts of minds of their unsuspecting youth. Before long, the entire town becomes severely compromised, and it's up to a band of unlikely heroes to stop Eternal Witness before it's too late - but will their faith be strong enough to sustain them...?

Taut, compelling, and fast-paced, The Blendings is an engrossing suspense tale. In skillful fashion, author Debi Irene Wahl has crafted an all-encompassing narrative scripted straight from the pages of everyday life, touching on everything from peer pressure to spiritual warfare to the often understated dangers of cults. Interweaving vivid characters with highly believable plotlines, Wahl provides the reader with an eye-opening glimpse into a problem more common than many believe; as such, through the vigilance displayed by her fearless protagonists, she encourages us all to keep careful watch over our own families and local communities - lest we become the latest victims of a spiritual struggle that stretches back longer than we can remember.

Striking and disturbingly real, The Blendings is a powerful, timely read. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a better understanding of just how dangerous cult activity can truly be.
