Product Description

Blendtec Twister Jar

The Twister jar is designed to blend your thickest recipes with ease

The Twister jar is designed to blend your thickest recipes, such as nut butters, hummus, baby food, dips, thick shakes, dressings and more! Best of all, the Twister jar is compatible with all Blendtec consumer blenders.

To use the jar, simply add ingredients and twist the lid counter-clockwise while the blend cycle is running. This twisting motion forces the ingredients from the sides of the jar back into the blade, allowing you to achieve a perfect blend every time.

Also included is the Spectacular spatula—engineered specifically for the Twister. We made this spatula just the right length and shape so you can get nearly every morsel out of your jar.

Features include all of these unique Blendtec advantages:
  • Patented Twister lid
  • Mini Gripper lid for containing thinner blends
  • Patented single-prong tuned wingtip blade
  • Easy-to-read jar markings up to 16 fl oz
  • Durable BPA-free material that stands up to heavy use
  • Compatible with all Blendtec consumer blenders, not compatible with Blendtec mixers.
  • 3-Year Warranty

Anatomy of the Twister

IF you could blend cream cheese, would you? How about nut butters? Hummus? If you think it's too thick, it's probably not. Not for the Blendtec Twister jar.

The secret is the patent-pending Twister lid featuring tines that run along the inner side of the jar. As the blade forces ingredients onto the side of the jar, you simply twist the lid to scrape the ingredients back into the lid blending vortex.

The result is fast blending of thick ingredients, without stopping to scrape the sides manually.

It also comes with a Gripper lid to contain thinner, single-serve blends.

Blendtec's ultra-hard stainless steel blades are cold-forged and tuned for heavy use. This allows them to be stronger and resist corrosion much better than lesser blades.

Blendtec's patented vertical wingtips and precision angles are engineered for ultimate efficiency. The distinct single-blade design allows your ingredients to fall easily in front of the blades.

Even the smallest parts in a Blendtec product have received big attention from our engineers.

Blade assembly nut

Round and smooth for easy cleaning—and—permanently attached at the factory – adding to jar safety.

Bearing assembly

Sonically welded into the jar for extra strength and durability.

Friction is the nemesis of all high-powered equipment. Ball bearings reduce friction so you can blend faster and quieter. It's all surrounded by a rubber mount that absorbs the shock produced by blending ice and frozen fruit.

Important Information

After Use Cleaning Add 1 cup of hot water and a drop of liquid dishwashing soap to the blender jar. Place the lid tightly onto the jar. Place the blender jar on the blender base and, with your hand on top of the lid, press the pulse button for 5 seconds Rinse with clear water until all soap is rinsed from jar and lid. Place jar and lid on drain rack to dry or dry by hand with soft, dry cloth. Unplug the blender base and clean by simply wiping the base and touchpad with a damp cloth.

It goes without saying that we love our BlendTec Total Blender, and use it at least once a day to whip up our daily green smoothies. I can't imagine life without it; it has earned a permanent place on our countertop.

Could the Total Blender possibly be improved upon? Well, since you asked...YES, and the BlendTec Twister Jar does the trick. We use nut butters in cooking fairly regularly, but have you checked the price of almond butter lately? Yikes! I did a down-and-dirty analysis that proved to me that the purchase of this (admittedly pricey) accessory would pay for itself in about a year, assuming that we made our own nut butters. Well, when the Twister Jar arrived today, the first thing I did (after a quick wash, of course) was to whip up a batch of almond butter. A cup and a half of raw almonds, pop the special Twister lid on the jar, cranked the BlendTec up to 7 and turned the Twister lid in a counter-clockwise direction. It took about 90 seconds to reach the consistency that I wanted, but when I opened the lid, the aroma of warm almond butter filled the air. Having just baked some whole wheat bread that was cooling on the counter, I couldn't resist slicing off a piece and slathering on some of this heady mix, and it was wonderful -- smooth, warm, creamy, perfectly blended.

So, now we own the BlendTec Total Blender, the Wildside Jar, the Four-sided Jar, the Twister Jar, as well as the BlendTec home flour mill, and I have to say that the investment in these quality-made products is absolutely among the best purchases we've made. We can now easily mill our own bulk-purchased grains, make bread, then enjoy it with our own home-made (and relatively cheap) nut butters, and wash it all down with a great smoothie! I can't say enough about the BlendTec products we own.

Just received my mixer jar and went put in about 12 oz (by volume) dry roasted saltfree peanuts. I then started on speed one and then quickly went to 6 and I was blown away for as soon as I started twisting the lid peanut butter was forming and literally in less than 10 seconds, the smoothest creamiest peanut butter I ever had was completed.

One of the reasons why I was shocked with these results was that I thought I would have to add oil as these were Planters DRY Roasted nuts, yet none would ever be needed.

I then made a mixture of dry roasted peanuts and raw almonds and this time in less than 20 seconds a peanut/almond butter was completed.

The spatula that is included is shaped such that almost all of the processing jar can have the nut butter removed and the cleanup was easy but literally took longer than making nut butter.

Having had even the VitaPrep machine and making nut butters for years, I was not prepared for the incredible ease and speed that the mixer jar achieved and to me my first impression was wow , magic!

I wanted to write a glowing review of the Twister Jar, but sadly after just a month, the rubber gasket at the base of the blade disintegrated. The blade is now loose and the jar won't hold liquid. Before I discovered there was something wrong, the damaged blade stopped connecting properly with the metal piece on the blender that drives the blade. When I removed the jar, there were metal shavings everywhere, indicating that the broken jar had also damaged the blender.

I contacted Blendtec customer service and will update this review when I have more to share. In the mean time, use this product cautiously!

06/17/2103 UPDATE: Blendtec sent me a new jar, no questions asked, and paid for the return shipping for the damaged jar. They also helped me evaluate the blender for damage. (It was unharmed!) Two thumbs up for the customer service at Blendtec. I am using this jar cautiously and not letting nut butters and other things get too hot inside. So far so good.

If you own a Blendtec (and you should!), this is a must-have. We gave our old, still running V---Mix to a relative when we purchased a Blendtec, and don't regret it at all. Once this jar was marketed, we checked with relatives that already owned one and the reviews were outstanding. [Disclaimer: one of our daughters is married to the brother of one of the lead engineers on the development of this particular jar. However, we don't get discounts, we just happen to be fortunate enough to get "inside" information about the development process, etc. - nothing that helps us, just interesting info.]

Our very first "project" was almond nut-butter. It turned out great - no wasted food trying to learn how to use this. We put a cup of raw almonds in this, used the twist-top to keep the sides clean and all the emerging nut-butter down in the bottom so it would continue processing, and in just a couple of minutes or so, we had delicious, fresh almond nut butter. It didn't need ANY additions, though I suppose one could add salt to taste, or other flavoring - we just didn't think it needed it.

There is so much more you can do with this, including single-serving smoothies, and much more. Clean up was amazingly simple - the spatula is designed to get almost every bit - and I mean almost EVERY bit - of things like thick nut-butter out of the jar so there's no waste. Then simply put a little hot water in it, a drop or two of dish detergent, put on the top that seals (not the one used while making the nut butter), run it a few seconds, and it's clean! Rinse, dry, and you're done.

The "Twister Jar" name comes from the other top that has two blade-like projections down either side.
