The Blendtec HP3A Blender has automatic blending cycles for ice cream, frozen yogurt, ice crushing, milkshakes, soups, syrups, fondues, sauces, dips, dressings, batters, whole juice, and smoothies. These cycles have variable speed settings that will change during the course of the cycle. This allows the blender to draw the contents into the blending vortex, which creates the desired texture. The HP3A blender will run its pre-programmed cycle and automatically shut off. If at any point you want to stop the blender before it has completed its cycle press any lower row button. The HP3A Blender recipe book is designed for an overall average in terms of ice temperature and the amount of liquid typically contained in various fruits and vegetables. Your experience may be different depending on local conditions and you may need to adjust certain recipes to have more or less ice, and higher or lower portions of fruits and vegetables or other ingredients. For example, if a drink is too thick to blend adequately, try reducing the ice a little and replacing the ice with a little water or other liquid. You will be amazed at the difference in blendability. Whatever your experience with ingredients, the HP3A Blender will blend things faster and more easily than other blenders because of its unique combination of high speed motor, patented square jar, single prong wingtip blade, direct drive coupling, and computer controlled blend cycles. I purchased this blender in July last year and have been using it daily and love it. I use it mainly to make green smoothies to fortify my bones and include all sorts of leafy vegetables and this way I eat a much larger serving than I would in a salad or soup etc. I add other veggies too and a little bit of frozen fruits to make it more palatable, a chunk of ginger, sometime an entire avocado including the pit. No problem: it all comes out creamy and you get all the fibers (that's a plus compare to the juicers). The pre-programmed settings make it very easy to use: I don't have to "think" when I prepare my smoothie first thing in the morning before leaving for work and I know I will have a very healthy meal for my day away from home. I purchased "Green Smoothies" by V. Boutenko to learn optimum ways and get ideas for combining veggies. It is a little loud but it's really not an issue for me. The square jar allows the food to blend well and you never need to go in with a spatula to get the stuff off the sides as it happens with round jars. Washing is a breeze: the jar doesn't need to be put apart from the blade etc.. for washing: it's just one set. I even put it in the lower rack of my dishwasher (it doesn't fit in the top one) although it's not recommended by the manufacturer, I've been doing it for months now without any issue. My dishwasher is a relatively new model and doesn't have the heating coils at the bottom. I highly recommend this blender!

After having gone through 4 blenders in the last 8 years I decided to fork the money over for this blendtec blender. I should have purchased it much, much sooner. This blender makes the best smoothies ever. It doesnt grind the seeds from blackberries, but crushes the ice to a smooth consistency. Definitely a keeper.

we have used our blendtec wildside blender every single day since we got it, twice a day. blends really, really, really well. hearing protection is only necessary for the sensitive earred folks. usually i have to hit the smoothie button twice for a really smooth green smoothie, but it always turns out great! i haven't ventured past green smoothies, but the recipe book that comes with it is really extensive, with soooo many great sounding recipes. i did a Ton of research before i made this purchase. totally pleased. we have only had it 5 days, but we love it!
