5.0 out of 5 stars a must read
I write this review as a recovering alcoholic.I don't think I,personally, would understand nor accept wholeheartedly what the author has to say about the essence of the disease of addiction.I identify totally with everything this book has to say.It is written so clearly,so simply,so beautifully and with love.

1.0 out of 5 stars didn't understand (agree with?)
I liked much of this book, but there were some statements that seemed very mystical and human works oriented and I had to put it down, as I have learned that I "become whatever I behold." Only Christ saved me, as I could not. All glory and praise to Him for His mercy and grace!

I believe that for anyone in recovery, this is a book you will want to read(many times),that you must read.To truly appreciate the knowledge in this small book one will have to have developed a degree of honesty and fearlessness.I cannot praise this book highly enough!

5.0 out of 5 stars Insight into Addiction, October 20, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This book shows that one doesn't have to be an addict or alcoholic to understand us. The whole spectrum of the disease of addiction is here, written with insight and love. For a small book this is a heavyweight. If you have a loved one still in active addiction this book will get you into the addict's mind before starting to use or drink, during the use, and into recovery when the drugs and drink are stopped.
