Honestly Considering Pacifism,
By

This review is from: Blessed Are The Pacifists (Paperback)
I really appreciate this clear, honest discussion of pacifism; its roots in Christ's words and its practical application to the events of today.
As a believer seeking God's will in all my thoughts and actions, I have been as disturbed by the "subdue our enemies" mindset as by the "walk away from all conflict" pacifism that is void of reality. This book gets beyond the extremes on either side of the issue to contemplate a different approach to the issues of our communities, our countries and our world.

There were so many interesting arguments for taking a pacifist stance as a Christian. I really enjoyed how Tryzna thoroughly explained the flaws of a Just War theory. The point Tryzna makes is that war is the quick response we are conditioned to want. Pacifism requires extended lengths of time for its goals to be accomplished, possibly through multiple generations. I read this book in less than 24 hours and plan to re-read a few more times. I highly recommend this book for anyone interested in pacifism or someone who is interested in taking a closer look at Jesus' teachings regarding conflict.
