5.0 out of 5 stars Hebrew Prayer made simple!
Edwards' book offers the reader, of any age, a simplistic, yet refined approach to Hebrew prayer. She offers both the traditional Hebrew, as well as a English translation, coupled with striking illustrations that show the deeper meaning of each prayer. Any child or adult who is even slightly interested in Hebrew prayer will treasure this book.

3.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful book, but.....
....I have a serious problem with the illustrations. No, the children didn't have to be blonde and blue-eyed. But was it really necessary to have them resemble anti-Semitic caricatures? We Jews are beautiful (or not) in our many shapes, sizes, and colors. The ones in this book are merely unpleasant to look at.

5.0 out of 5 stars A treasure trove of prayer and tradition, October 5, 2006
This book is exactly what I have been looking for. A guide to assist me in teaching my children some basic prayers and the appropriate time to recite them. The thirteen blessings are presented in an easy to read Hebrew font, in beautifully translated English. Each blessing is also transliterated for those not able to read the Hebrew. The English translations are not formal or stiff at all. They are rendered in language that a child will understand and appreciate. I'm not crazy about the illustrations but they do show a loving family participating in everyday activities and incorporating Judaism into their lives. I can't wait to share it with my children.
