I just wanted to say something positive about Paul weller. I happen to like paul weller. It seems to me that you are just pissed off that carleen anderson worked with a white man on this album. You need to grow up!It was her idea to work with paul and mick talbott(I guess you don't know who he is, and I won't tell you.)I don't know who you consider to be good musicians, but paul and mick are the cream of the crop. why do you think carleen left America and went to Egland.Because thats were she got some respect. Thank god she did not work with any American producers,She would have ended up sounding like some shit off of bet, talentless bull shit!

Possibly The Best Recording Of The 90s,
By A Customer
Am I the one and only person who has heard of Carleen Anderson in this world. It seems quite incredible to me that she has not become one of the biggest stars of the 90s with her unique voice, powerful vocal range, extraordinary mixture of songs and superb production of her LPs.Unlike her 1994 debut 'True Spirit' this album has a very 'live-performance' sound, which brings out Anderson's quite unbelievable voice. From the powerful opener 'Fortune's Drive', with its prophetic lyrics and stunning build-up through to her superb covers of 'Maybe I'm Amazed' and 'Who Was That Masked Man'; from the wonderfully uplifting 'Peace In The Valley' to the superb Paul Weller-sounding 'Burnin' Bridges'; from the up-tempo 'Redemption' to the what I think is one of the most beautiful songs of all time, 'Leopards in the Temple', the album never loses its superb quality. So different to 'True Spirit' which I had thought was terrific this improves on her debut as her lyrics have matured and music has with it. If you've never heard of Carleen Anderson and you like good music combined with a superb voice and fascinating lyrics then 'Blessed Burden' is for you. And if 'Blessed Burden' isn't your thing then check out 'True Spirit' - a thoroughly different recording but also of a very high standard. That's all for my rantings and ravings about Carleen Anderson and if this hasn't sold her product then nothing will!
